The Devil Is in the Fine Print
Always read the fine print. It's common sense advice from people who have been burned by not adhering to the advice they now espouse. One man, Dmitry Agarkov, decided he was sick of the restrictive limits the bank put on their customers and wanted to turn the tables on them. After reviewing his agreement, he added some terms in the fine print. This led to a face off with the bank.

How Do I Know?
Subtlety is not something that I am familiar with. In every area of my life, bluntness is the name of the game. No one has time for the silly games of "well, maybe, kind of..." etc. Yet twice in the last few months, I have learned the hard way that there were two guys interested in me and had been very subtle about trying to tell me.

Should Gay Celebs Come Out?
"Yep, I'm Gay!" Time's cover story on Ellen Degeneres set in motion a new movement of celebs coming out. And at that moment in time, it was much needed. Gay visibility was so low that even fog lights couldn't find them. With Ellen's announcement, a light was shed on, and slowly but surely more people became more comfortable coming out of the closet. More than 20 years later, more celebs make being part of the LGBTQ+ community a part of their act than ever before. Is coming out necessary?

Family Sharing Plan
A mother sleeping with her daughter's boyfriend or the daughter sleeping with the mother's husband has long been a staple of soap operas. And thus, after quite a few of those successful storylines ignited the public's imagination with these familial tales, porn producers decided that there was a goldmine in them. Scenes featuring non-related relatives became a phenomenon garnering hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of views for every clip. Suddenly, sleeping with your stepdad was cool. It was a fetish. It was something to aspire to.

Ryan 2020 Looking Likely
This will be music to the "Never Trump" segment of the Republican Party. It appears as though at least one prominent member is at least considering a run for the 2020 nomination against Trump. Paul Ryan, who retired from Congress less than three months ago, started to lay the groundwork to unseat Trump as President. His remarks during a speech at Vero Beach may seem like advice to the current Oval Office Occupant, but they are a direct warning: Shape up or getting ready to be shipped out.

Love and Murder
New York City, particularly Manhattan, is called the concrete jungle and for good reason. Dreams are made and killed in a flash, just as many of it's citizens are. It's Darwin at its Darwiniest. Howard Pilmar was one of the people who had not only figured out how to survive in the concrete jungle but actually ended up thriving, until he didn't. He had made one critical mistake on his way to the top, marrying Roslyn Pilmar (nee Wald). She and her brother, Evan Wald would murder him and go more than 20 years before being convicted.

The Threat of Male Egos
There are some communities that need to have groups fighting for their rights, like LGBTQ, women, people of color, etc. Then there are those groups like the Men's Rights Activists groups that have sprung up in recent years. Cisgendered, white men feel that they are under attack because there are more diverse movies and TV shows on the air now, and this is not ok with them. Can you imagine a female being anything but helpless and in need of a big, strong man to save her? It flies in the face of their reality, and they are not afraid to let people know that.

The Mysterious Death of Bill Bailey
Day drinking is not for everyone. Only those that are professional should attempt to drink all day, and even then there needs to be some caution exercised. It's probably not smart to have tequila shots at 10 in the morning, but a refreshing Tequila Sunrise never hurt anyone that early. In fact, it begs to be had in the morning. Porn star Bill Bailey allegedly went on an all-day drinking spree, which ended with him dying. But is there more than just an overdose on alcohol in play here?

The Convenience of Overlooked Facts
“How do you know Trump is lying? He’s mouth is open!” It’s a common joke with liberals that the current Oval Office occupant can’t be trusted. Yet, there’s a bigger point here that is being missed. Sure, high up officials are lying but it’s not the lie that’s troublesome, it’s that they are overlooking facts to prove their point.

America's First Sex Scandal
An adultery scandal almost seems quaint in these days, many miss the days when there was decorum and respect among politicians. President Clinton getting his dick sucked in the Oval Office may have been a precursor to the #MeToo movement, but Alexander Hamilton was the first politician to watch his career go up in flames over an ill-advised affair. Maria and James Reynolds would play a part in making sure that Hamilton's name was synonymous with America's very first sex scandal.

The Well Mystery of Manhattan
Levi Weeks might be the only person to ever have Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton fight a legal case on the same side. Burr would go to kill Hamilton in a duel but not before they successfully argued that Weeks had not killed the girl at the center of a murder mystery that still confounds New York City to this day.

Heart Rake
Remember when Donald Trump told California officials that if they raked the forest, the wildfires would stop? It's a thing that really happened, it became a meme. Outside of the lunacy that a rake would stop a wildfire, Todd Mullis may have given them another reason to not listen to Trump. Mullis is charged with killing his wife, Amy Mullis, with a corn rake. And as with so many victims before her, Amy seemed to know that Todd was aiming to snuff the life out of her.
