Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Why they say that I do not know. Were a bunch of astronomers sitting at a table eating sushi when one of them suddenly blurted out “hey guys, I just realized, nobody can hear a scream in space.”? Better to say “Nobody can hear a fart in space, so nobody will know it was you.”

There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. They had come here after a devastating war with another ancient species, the raion. The dragons were the first species to appear on Myrmidon, born of the world as life came to be. When the Old Gods awoke from the First Slumber, they created creatures worthy of them for reasons of their own. The most powerful of these were the raion, giant winged lions created by DanaZule Herself.

Mocking laughter followed Lila from the clearing where the ruins had stood. When she looked back, the clearing itself was gone. Just like the ruins where she had been, well, where she had been ruined. Lila’s hand went to her chest and twisted her shirt as her face grimaced in despair. Somehow she lost her balance and with a cry fell on her rear.

Lila stretched luxuriously on the soft bed she splayed out on, looking out the window as the horizon brightened with the approach of the rising sun. The cottage her family was staying at was gorgeous, expensive, and quite comfortable. She was so glad her parents stayed here on this “dream vacation” to Arilon. Her college graduation was fast approaching, and not long after that, she would marry her future husband. Her father was quite put out with the fact she was rushing into marriage so soon after reaching her majority, but Justin was one of those rare boys that already displayed the man he would become. Even at her young age, she knew he was the man she wanted. She had plans for her life, and she wanted him to be in it. Her father slowly came around to the idea, or at least made peace with it. However, he had always wanted to visit exotic Arilon once in his life, and he insisted they go as a family before she began the next chapter of her life.

Oh, it’s my pleasure. You saved my kids’ lives. I can deny you nothing. Certainly not an interview. Besides, if I ever get eaten, torn to pieces, or cooked in a lava pit, it will be a comfort knowing there’s some sort of record of our time here. The Seer was said to be blind, and those milky white eyes certainly seemed to confirm that, but those eyes were locked on me and it felt like they were staring into my soul. Writing through depression
A thousand voices yelling at the top of their lungs. Music plays almost constantly, sometimes a song from Pink Floyd, sometimes the theme from an 80s cartoon, or anything I’ve heard over the years. Images play, scenes from movies or tv shows, or favorite books are played out in my mind, sometimes perfect recreations, sometimes a “what if '' scenario, or if I am feeling whimsical I’ll even insert skinny me.
