Why Blogging Doesn't Have to Be Your Full Time Job
It's been just under a month since I've begun this 'blogging' thing. I sort of picked it up thinking it would be a sweet side hobby to have to reignite what used to be my passion for writing. I find that my brain is quite good at talking to itself most days, and I wondered what it would be like to read those thoughts aloud to myself sometimes.

5 Board Games on Kickstarter to Watch Out for in 2018. Top Story - January 2018.
In the fashion world, it is the year 2018. We observe the everyday human as they walk down the street: they wear jeans with waistlines starting at their belly buttons, backpacks with cartoon buttons, and glasses are the size of two very big grapefruits. We see floral patterns that match your mother's curtains, full body jumpsuits in singular colors, and dresses that fall just below the knee. No, it is not the year 1980. It is, as we said, the year is 2018. But the trends from this time appear to have resurfaced, you finally conclude. Interesting.Similarly, it is also the year 2018 in the world of games. Our current observation is that video games and consoles such as Playstation and XBox have long since taken over classic games of the past. If you want to play Cribbage, perhaps Meema at the care home would be up for a round. But since the rise of Kickstarter.com, we've seen a fashion world-esque surge in trends of the past in that board games are the new "in" games like Exploding Kittens and Unstable Unicorns have thrived in this new era of gaming from their feeble starts on Kickstarter, and you will notice many others trying to do the same. So in honor of Kickstarter and the revival of the great board game, here are some of their newest additions that you're going to want to add to your collection for the upcoming year!

Why Must We Be Kind to Creepy Men Just to Feel Safe?
It's the late afternoon, and you've just finished up at the office for the day. You're heading to the subway to catch the train home, picking a seat that tucks you away for the half hour it takes to get to your stop. With a sigh, you pull a book out of your bag and start to read. Your attention is pulled away from your book when you sense that someone is talking to you. A "friendly" man has just made a comment about your legs (wrapped in jeans and tucked into black polka dotted rain boots), mentions he's seen you on the train before and asks if you have a boyfriend. He has one hand in his pants and he smells like the tuna sandwich science project you found in the office refrigerator two days ago, but three of them, stacked on top of one another and jammed crazy far up your nostrils. You don't want to be rude, so you take a moment to consider your options before offering it to him. You feel a huge wave of relief when you realize he's heard you wrong. Other commuters give you quick-but-awkward sideways glances, the looks on their faces clearly glad that they chose not to sit where you're sitting right now. By the time you get home, you've already considered three alternate routes home from the office for the rest of the week.

Real Life Regrets We Have As Adults That We Should Recognize
Regret is, in it's own right, a very big word. We regret accidentally clicking 'Send' on that email that wasn't ready to be sent. We regret letting our anger get the better of us when we're in a heated argument with Mom about why you're still living at home at the age of 30. (Not my truth but hey, still very real..) And sometimes, we even regret the food that we put in our bellies; yes four-cheese pizza, I'm talking to you. But we all know a few regrets we have that could have made our lives only that much easier, and it's that Gandhi-level advice that we really should have listened to all along. Fixing these now will help you save some of that time you spent all your energy wasting.

Valuable Life Lessons That I Learned Growing Up in Vancouver
Looking back at this post, I realize that some of these might sound a bit... obvious. But how often does one remind themselves to do these simple yet excruciatingly difficult things and eventually find themselves not actually doing them until it's too damn late?! It is precisely those 'ugh–damnit' moments that encouraged me to write about the valuable-yet-simple life lessons that living and growing up in Vancouver has taught me over the years. An umbrella-in-the-face nudge, just to remind you, if you will. So roll out your yoga mat, strap in and channel your inner Buddha; here are some of my most valuable life lessons I learned growing up in Vancouver.

8 Obvious Music Sellouts of Today's Generation
Throughout musical history, musicians have been known to cause controversy and create a buzz about important opinions they hold regarding society and the way of life that humans partake in without remorse. They dressed in leather and fishnets, sang about revivals and revoking freedoms, pushed the boundaries of acceptable and unacceptable and set about on a vision to change the world. And as the universe continues to evolve and music opinions begins to take a back seat to the ever-so-impressionable greenback, we see artists who set out to make a world statement become a version of themselves that, while catapulting them to fame and fortune, rejects their initial purpose and vision of musical freedom. Can they be saved? Some, perhaps. But most have gone so far down the rabbit hole that they've become the norm in terms of how society now views the person they are, and it is always the most obvious that seem to slip right past our periphery. So, in honor of our favorites from today's era, here are my top eight musical sellouts of our generation.

The Red Dress Among the Sea of Black at the Golden Globes
In case you've been hiding under a stone at the bottom of a volcano this past week, you are probably aware that the #timesup movement happened at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards early this January. Attendees wore black in support against the growing sexual harassment stories that have surfaced in light of the #metoo campaign that swept the world like a broom to dust. Actresses from Oprah Winfrey to Kristen Bell, Gal Gadot and Amy Poehler all wore black in commemoration of the two epic-sized movements, but one beautiful red dress stood out from the wave of darkness.

The Winners and Losers From Elementary School Graduation
I was in fifth grade; tall, smart, studious and athletic. I loved to swim, had a few really close friends, good grades, and a happy family to go home to everyday. My parents kept my busy with swim class, after school activities and a brother and sister each to chase after constantly, but despite all that, I was a daydreamer. I loved music and was actively playing piano as well as just beginning to write my own songs at the time. I was a happy kid, and life was easy. This is the story of one of the fondest memories of my childhood.

Is it Better to Work Out in the Morning or Afternoon? . Top Story - January 2018.
The other day I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine who is an early riser. She enjoys waking up early, going for a run, and having a nice breakfast before heading to work in the morning. Her alarm is set for five AM every morning to accommodate for her morning routine, which occasionally includes a yoga class or some quality time in the gym instead of on a run. Naturally, as a night owl myself, I was curious to know if there were really any real benefits to going to the gym so early in the morning because, really, why else would someone want to wake up so early in the morning?! I was surprised to learn a few great pros and cons to both cases. Take a look.

8 Martin Luther King Quotes That 2018 Really Needs Right Now
Famous for his speech that turned the world on its head and right back over again, Martin Luther King Jr's legacy has surpassed the life expectancy of influence on our great men and women of history. He was the pinnacle of inspiration for the likes of Americans growing up in frustration and struggle like no era has ever seen before. We saw flickers of reflections in our late president, Barack Obama, yet his replacement has brought back dark visions of times past that beg today's generation for wise words to follow. Words that only men like Mr. King could provide. In honor of MLK and the brilliant impact he has had on our society, and not just on African Americans but in the world and those who remain on it, here are 8 quotes by Martin Luther King that we should remember for 2018.

Why Buying Organic Is a Huge Waste of Money
I never understood the point of organic food. You can walk into a grocery store and you think, alright, it is now 2018, and eating healthy is supposed to be on the rise. That sh*t is good for you, so make use of it! (Not that it hasn’t ever been good for you, but it is an important factor that helps the environment and all that stuff, you know.) My own father had a phase he was going through at one point where he insisted my mother only buy organic vegetables because he would refuse to eat anything else, especially when he was preparing for a marathon because: healthy. And just like a pair of new shoes, you’re going to want to pay a little bit more to get more life out of them.

Why Oprah Might Not Be The Best Choice For Presidency
Since her inspirational Golden Globe speech went viral, talks of "Oprah 2020" has risen from whispers, to chatter, to potentially possible. We considered what she would wear to her inauguration. We pondered her poll numbers and thought about potential venues to showcase her inspirational speeches about how she would change the world. We came up with strategic ways for her to campaign her presidency through her talk show. Most of all, we eagerly restarted the countdown to Trump's dethroning.
