Stronger
Escaping Glancing at the trees and houses as they whizz by, Abigail sighs deep. Then she looks at her bus ticket. 'One way to Vancouver.' It was her only chance to do something with her life. Getting away from that angry demon of a man, that is her husband. It was a big step for her, but she finally did it. Although it was in a cowardly way, sneaking away at dawn, with bags in hand. She left a note leaning against their wedding photo on the kitchen table. The letter she had written weeks ago and hidden it in her underwear drawer. A place she knew her husband would never dream of venturing. He may have been a monster, but he had principles, and he understood that Abigail's undergarments should be private. The only thing in her life that was.

Mommy's Boy
Under his mother's thumb from the day, he is born. Mark, a 45-year-old man who still resides at his parent's home. He never knew his father. That man fled when Mark was born. His father was incapable of understanding his wife's mental state, and he could not cope with such a responsibility. She is eight months pregnant and bipolar, and her moods can be very Jekyll and Hyde. One minute nice, the next evil. And, because of the stress, his father dated different women behind Mary's back. When she found out about his additional lovers, she flew at him with a knife. Finally, the family physician, Dr. Brown, admitted Mary into a Mental institution, where she gave birth to Mark. The child's life commenced in foster homes until she is deemed suitable.

Never Ending Journey
A door slams, the jolt awakens Amanda. Her vibrant brown eyes are wide open, but she does not see anything. It is pitch dark. Slowly her senses adjust. She detects a whimsical stream of light shining through a corroded bullet hole and wriggles across the scratchy tiles towards it, dragging her body causing carpet burns to her exposed skin. She stares hard to view the outside world to see where in hell she is but is unable to focus. Trees zip by like green and brown lines. The speed is causing everything to blur. Her immediate area is slowly immerging through the darkness, although the small light is not enough to show the whole picture of horror that lay in the depths of the trunk.

Stairway to heaven
Ariana, a desperate young woman, trapped in an eternal hellish nightmare, knew that to get to heaven she had to prove her worth to the demon who held her captive. There was a reason for killing that man, Mike, her husband of 25 years; she did not mean to do it, it was in self-defence. Yes, she may have stabbed him twenty times or fifty with that kitchen knife, she lost count after plunge number five; but he had it coming. It was unfortunate that he had two of his friends with him, but they were easy to dispose of. Both drunk and sleeping. One on the armchair, with his legs, splayed over the wing, and his other mate who had previously vomited is sprawled out on the rug in front of a dead fireplace.

After the roar.
‘Crash!’ Donna is still sat on her bed, which is now sitting in the basement of her building; having dropped through the ceiling of the floor above. Startled, from the sudden fall, and holding onto the mattress and a pen she was using, gripping both tight. looking up, through a mask of dust she can see a vast hole above with splintered and broken planks where her bedroom floor used to be. Climbing over her bed which is now covered in brick dust, she assesses the damage.

Blind Date
The television is quietly murmuring in the background, while Maria stares at a web page, checking profiles on her laptop. A news bulletin flashed across the tv screen. Maria grabs the remote increasing the volume. “Good Evening, the notorious serial killer, ‘The Carver,’ has struck again. A corpse was found beheaded, under a bridge, on the outskirts of town.” The pictures on the tv screen show the location with a white tent covering where the body was located. A news reporter questions the chief of police while holding a microphone up to his face. He answers, “We have reason to believe this is the work of the serial killer, ‘The Carver.’ The victim, discovered by a dog walker; had a number ten carved into its chest. We have a team searching in this vicinity for clues.” The interview is cut short, the camera returns to the newsreader.
