Our Hearts were Not Ready to Live Without You
It has been a week and 4 days since my fur baby, Chewy, crossed the rainbow bridge. We think of him every day. We miss him greeting us excitedly when we arrive home, following us around the house, whining because his water bowl is empty or because he wants us to join him in a nap. I miss him tapping me with his paw to get me to put down my laptop, iPad, or phone because he wants to cuddle on my lap. We miss his company in every nook and corner of this house. It feels so empty without him.

Grief and Guilt from the Loss of Our Beloved Pet
Our fur baby Chewy died on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He woke up struggling to breathe and gasping for air, so we had to rush him to the 24-hour emergency vet clinic. Chewy went into cardiac arrest and the vet could not save him. He died between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. I am devastated and can’t seem to find myself.

The Mystery of Dreaming Have you ever had a dream that is suddenly integrated with your real life? Were you awakened and realized that what you were dreaming was actually happening at that precise moment? This has occurred to me a few times. I never thought about it, but during the most recent experience, I tried to find a logical explanation for it. However, I still cannot figure it out. Let me give you an example using the actual dream I had.

Adam was a wealthy, attractive, single 30-year-old male who enjoyed life. A free-spirited young man. Parties, bars, girls, trips, and more were his life. He lived alone and constantly hosted parties for his friends. Often, they ended on a great note, until that day in September 2222 at the stroke of midnight.

Mollie, the Black Lab, and Her Shenanigans. Top Story - July 2022.
Meet Mollie We have a granddaughter. Her name is Mollie. She is a 60 to 70 pounds black lab and is about 8 years old. Mollie is very vocal and quite a character. I can imagine her as a human with a snarky attitude. Mollie stays with us when her parents are on vacation and there is never an occasion where she does not use her manipulation methods with us. Mollie loves being outside, hence why she enjoys being here, because of our large fenced-in backyard. She can get annoying sometimes with her constant whining to go outside. Yesterday alone I opened the sliding door for her about 30 times. And whenever I said no, she grunted like a bitchy teenager as if saying, “FINE! I’ll just lay here on your swollen, puffy, hurt foot!” Then lay down on the floor using my foot as a pillow.

I Learned to be Patient with My Dad Just like He Was Patient with Me
Spending Time with Dad My parents divorced 38 years ago. I was 21 years old when it happened. As life went on, I left my dad behind on the tiny island of Puerto Rico. Though I don’t see him often, only about twice a year when we visit the island. I call him at least once a month. But last year I spent 3 months with him when he came to visit from Puerto Rico and stayed at my house with us.

I Talk to My Plants While some articles claim that talking to plants makes them grow, there is no scientific evidence to prove it. It does not matter anyway, there are plenty of people who do it — myself included. Other than to seem crazy to some people, there’s nothing wrong with telling a plant how beautiful it is, or how tall, or asking it why it looks sad. In some weird way, I think they do hear us. Here’s my take on this topic.

My dearest Mom, Now that I am older, I would like to clear up some misunderstandings that happened long ago. A secret I kept from you and which I want to let go of. For an 8-year-old to discover what I did was harsh. Some things scared me, some amused me, and others intrigued me. But I can assure you I grew up a lot quicker than I should have. There were many things foreign and prohibited to me. I was an 8-year-old entering a new world of adult secrets.

He Was on to Something When He Knew Venice was Magical
“Travel has a way of stretching the mind.” ~ Ralph Crawshaw Our Son’s Wish Took us to Venice, Italy Our first international trip was to Italy. It was part of my grieving process. Ever since my forever 20-year-old angel was a child and first saw Venice in a book, he became fascinated with “the streets of water,” as he called them. About three months before my son died, we watched a documentary about Venice. He was in awe of Venice and said it was magical, “you’ll see Mom, one of these days I’m going to visit Venice.” Unfortunately, that day never came. During my grieving process, I opted to do for my son what he wanted to do but didn’t get to. One of those things was traveling to Venice.

My Thoughts on Monaco in the French Riviera, the Second Smallest Country in the World
Monaco in the French Riviera One country we visited during our 2021 European trip was Monaco. Monaco is a sovereign state and the second-smallest nation worldwide. It borders France, Italy, and the Mediterranean Sea. Though it borders the Mediterranean Sea, its beach, Larvotto Beach, is the only public beach available. Larvotto Beach is a man-made beach and is very popular among the locals and tourists. The beach is 52 acres of surface, mostly with small river stones and just one side of sand.
