Macin Smith got up early on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2015, and made himself breakfast before he left his St. George, Utah home. The 17-year-old started walking in the direction of his bus stop, but he never got on the school bus and didn’t attend any of his classes at Desert Hills High School. His movements after he left his house that morning are unknown; Macin was never seen again.

Michael Negrete stayed up until the early morning hours of Friday, December 10, 1999, playing an online computer game in his dormitory at the University of California in Los Angeles. The 18-year-old, who was a freshman at the university, finished his game and logged off his computer at 3:40 am. He went out into the hallway and spoke briefly with the friend he had been playing against, then returned to his room on the sixth floor of Dykstra Hall. The 18-year-old University of Texas freshman, Haruka Weiser, who was tragically murdered on campus, was reportedly sexually assaulted before her death. Law enforcement sources close to the investigation disclosed that Weiser, last seen leaving a dance class on April 3, was found two days later in a creek near the football stadium. Meechaeiel Criner, a 17-year-old homeless teen, has been charged with her murder.
