Walk
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Lily had found a box of them, along with holders, right where he said they’d be, under the broken sink at the back of the darkened kitchen. As the candle flickered into life, so did the room.

In the name of O Father! O Satan! O Sun!
A cough, just a little one, but one that makes me look at Kayleigh, and Kayleigh look at me. We have a four hour trip to Hertford, just north of London, and that impending cloud of doom is closing in on us from all around. Our 2 year old daughter, Aria, has been fighting off an illness on and off for a few weeks, but now it’s winning, and the worst is about to come.

A Fairly British BBQ
Exhale, coals burn. Dancing reds twist and turn. Repeat the process. The coals glow brighter, the smoke turns thicker and my eyes are soaked with tears. This is a British BBQ, done the right way.
