Bio
My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Virginity - Intact Yes Or No?
I was reading this article by Yewande Adeleke, called The Shocking History of Virginity Testing, published on another platform. It's a brilliant article on the historical ritual of testing that a woman's virginity is still intact. The article goes on to describe the barbaric rituals that women suffered in the middle ages, and beyond, by being tested in this way.

One day, you are coasting along in your relationship, believing it is all sweet sailing. Then you suddenly wake up one morning and realise your relationship has hit a major bump in the road and you are horrified to find, that bump has been there for quite some time. You are not coasting along happily, you are in fact, settling! Settling on easy, with your head buried in the sand. So where do you go from here?

Friends, I Love You
Most stages of our lives will see us surrounded and supported by friends. Different stages, different friends and if you are really lucky, you may have a friend or two that sticks with you through all the stages of your life. But on saying that, are your friends, real friends? Or are they just acquaintances? Will they stand by you through thick and thin or do they disappear when the going gets tough? Sadly I have always found that when the going gets tough, most of my friends, are really only acquaintances. I have been lucky though and I do have a few genuine friends. However, I can count these on the one hand. Still, I am extremely grateful for those few wonderful friends.
