The History of "Saved by the Bell" (Part II: Films and College Years)
Though Good Morning, Miss Bliss didn't last long--just a single season on the Disney Channel--NBC took the show, retooled it, and tinkered with the cast. As a result, Good Morning, Miss Bliss was transformed into the popular Saved by the Bell. The central cast included Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Dustin Diamond (Samuel "Screech" Powers), Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), and Dennis Haskins (Principal Richard Belding). This was the group that was featured on the Saturday morning series for all four seasons, from the freshman year up to the graduation from Bayside High School.

A Look at the New 12-Team College Football Playoff Format
The NFL is just over two weeks away from starting, but regarding NCAA football, that is literally around the corner. The 2024 season of Division I football starts on Saturday, August 24 with a plethora of games all over the country and all around television. As long as I can remember, while the NFL owned Sundays, NCAA football owned Saturdays. Here in the West Coast, games aired as early as 9AM Pacific Standard Time, and the day of action usually spanned 12 hours.

CFL Week 11 Recap: The Mild, Mild West
Soooo...what just happened? We are now past the halfway mark of the 2024 CFL season, and things are getting quite messy out West. First off, the Calgary Stampeders began the week hosting the Ottawa Redblacks, and that matchup is always nostalgic to me, because these two teams played each other for the Grey Cup twice. With the Toronto Argonauts off that week, I really needed Calgary to pull off a victory here to put some pressure on Ottawa. It looked good for Calgary, until a last second Redblacks field goal killed things. 31-29 was the final score in Ottawa's favor, and that's another notch they've picked up over the Boatmen.

Vespertilia
There were a lot of things that Paulina Rívera didn't expect to happen. She didn't expect that her 10 year marriage would be over, and she also didn't expect that her ex-husband, Randall West, would move on with another woman. Paulina often claims that she was cheated on, but all of that was always in her head. Despite having no evidence at all, and her friends knowing that she habitually makes meritless accusations, Paulina expected to be believed.

The History of "Saved by the Bell" (Part I: The Original Run)
We all love Saved by the Bell, don't we? It's one of those shows that we love so much that we can name various episodes based on even a simple sliver of a scene, or even by one or two lines. I don't think anyone who watched the show when it aired knew that it would become not only a phenomenon, but a known franchise as well, yet here we are.

CFL Week 10 Recap: Deadlock
I absolutely, positively, love this league! So Week 10 kicked off with a meeting between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Ottawa Redblacks, and it was slow at first. Scoreless after one and only 3-3 at the half. Ottawa led 7-3 entering the fourth. Then the scoring picked up in the fourth, but the result saw nothing settled after sixty minutes. 13-13 after regulation. We get CFL overtime! Ottawa had the first possession, and it results in touchdown. Oh boy. By rule, no extra points, two point conversions are mandatory in OT. The Redblacks' conversion fails. This means the Riders can win it with an eight-point touchdown, and here's where the insanity starts. Ottawa commits defensive pass interference, doesn't get called. Challenge is made, call overturned. OT continues, Riders score! Two-pointer fails.

A Look at the 1947 Chicago Cardinals
Amazing how close we are to the start of the NFL season. We are just over three weeks away, and preseason in the early stages. Also amazing is that the Super Bowl is closing in on celebrating 60 years; next year will be Super Bowl LX, but this year, it's Super Bowl LIX in Las Vegas. The NFL has evolved over the years in regards to crowning a champion, but there have been many memorable champions in the over 100 year history of the National Football League.

How Difficult is it to Three-Peat?
It's been said that it's hard to win one championship, and it is. However, winning that big one is an amazing feat. Winning back-to-back, that's even better. I've seen my share of back-to-back defending champions in sports, and that's a big moment to enter the season having been on top for two years straight. Of course, winning back-to-back is called a repeat. If a third one follows, we have the iconic "three-peat."

The Eleventh Day of the Eighth Month. Top Story - August 2024.
August 11, 2014. Around 3:30PM Pacific Standard Time. I was on Twitter, just looking around. Then I read it. I wish I could forget it. "Robin Williams has died." My first thought: "Please let this be some sick hoax." Dead serious, those were the words that entered my mind.

Stating the Obvious: The Chicago White Sox SUCK!
Today's Vocal sports story is brought to you by the letters W, T, and F. Seriously, what the hell happened to the Chicago White Sox?! I have been considering writing about this team for a while, because, well, all of this needs to be stated. I was waiting for the right time to address this. One plan involved writing this once this team reached loss #100. The other, addressing this if their losing streak reached 20 games. I didn't think the other option would happen, even though the streak reached 19. Surely, this team wouldn't lose 20 in a row, right?

Reviewing Every Villainess from Lifetime's "Secrets on Maple Street" Trilogy
I've watched Lifetime's captivating thrillers for about a quarter-century now, and I've seen so much happen in these films. While I've enjoyed them all so much, I have to say that this recent trilogy of films has to be the best thing they've done. I was so excited for these films, because I knew we'd receive some good twists, an amazing pace, and I figured we'd see some amazing villainesses.
