What Went Wrong: Mets' Magical Run Ends in LA
Wow! What a run, huh? I've said many times before that the scrutiny that has been hurled towards the New York Mets has been unfair. Yes, it's easy to make fun of the Mets and say that the team's a bunch of screwups, but here's the thing: they've won a pennant in the last decade. Until a few days ago, not even the Yankees could say that. The sentiment a few months ago was that this season was dead, the Mets would not go anywhere, and Pete Alonso would be gone after this year. Even as the Atlanta Braves struggled due to an immense number of injuries, nobody had the Mets joining the postseason party.

An Ice COLT Glass of Juice
The Colorado Avalanche were coming off finally picking up Win #1 in this young 2024-25 season, which is actually our 30th season since moving out of Quebec City (our 29th in play). The Avs defeated the Anaheim Ducks in overtime for our first win of the season; vibes are positive, and now, it was time to go back-to-back. Our opponents for Game #6 were the San Jose Sharks. It's always interesting when the Avs and Sharks get together, and I'm speaking as an Avs fan who remembers those early years when the Avs and Sharks were both strong playoff contenders. Sadly, those days are behind both teams, especially the Sharks, who are still rebuilding and trying to get something going in the midst of their longest playoff drought in franchise history.

What Went Wrong: 76 Years
First off, let's get the happiness part over with! The New York Yankees are in the World Series for the first time since 2009! Now, I know that 15 years is a cup of coffee in baseball. I'm not one of those "woe is me" Yankees fans who act like 15 years without a pennant is the end of the world, when so many other teams have it much worse. But even so, this is a huge deal, and I'm over the moon! So yeah, I am in happiness overload right now.

Top Scoring Players on Fantasy Football (Week 6)
We are currently in the pivotal weeks of the Fantasy Football season. Not close to playoffs yet, but Week 6 (which came and went) truly is the final week before struggling teams may have to call it a season. Fifth Time's the Charm
Boy, did we need this! The Colorado Avalanche were 0-4 for the first time since the 1998-99 season, which actually ended with the Avs winning the newly formed Northwest Division and falling one win short of reaching the Stanley Cup Final. So based on that, while this 0-4 start sucks, it's not the end of the world. But even so, we needed a win. 1998-99 was also the last time the Avs went winless in our first five games of the season; that year saw the Avs tie our fifth game of the season.

CFL Week 19 Recap: All of the Pieces Fit
Well, it wasn't easy, but the Toronto Argonauts are playoff bound. It's been a rough season full of inconsistent play and drama from one of our QBs, but Week 19, Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend, started with the Boatmen sailing our way to this year's Grey Cup Playoffs. We needed a win or tie to get it done, and the Argos won a close and ugly thriller against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 14-11. It's crazy. We couldn't beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season, yet we have four total wins against last year's Grey Cup finalists.

78 Games to Go
This can be fixed. This really can. This was the third game of the Colorado Avalanche's homestand, and so far, home ice hasn't cured our ills. We're still undermanned, we're still shaky, and we are still in unfamiliar negative territory. Nevertheless, we attempt to persevere. The Avs were visited by the Boston Bruins, and it was still Alexandar Georgiev in net against Joonas Korpisalo. The game was actually quiet, and trust me, we did need some quiet. It was still scoreless halfway through the opening frame, but Cole Koepke changed that in the 14th minute.

Home is Where the MVPs Are
As the saying goes, "You only have one chance to make your first impression." Regarding the 2024-25 NHL season, the Colorado Avalanche's first impression was a shaky one. On the bright side, Mikko Rantanen started the season with a hat trick. On the other hand, goaltending has been the key problem. Seven goals against, five of them from Alexander Georgiev. That has Avs fans in an unreasonable tizzy. It's Game One. There's 81 of these things to go. Give it time.
