You Can't Spell "Dominate" Without "Nate"
Days after a close home win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Colorado Avalanche went across the border into Western Canada for a pair of games in as many days. First off, facing the Oilers in Edmonton. That is always an exciting affair. We all know the centerpiece in that game: MacKinnon vs McDavid. Two teams who played in three of the last four Cup Finals. This was going to be an epic matchup.

It's Like 2022 Never Ended
Coming off a two game Pacific Division road trip, the Colorado Avalanche returned home to Ball Arena for a Tuesday night game on TNT. Our opponents? A team very near and dear to us: the Tampa Bay Lightning. Three full seasons have passed since that magical Cup Final; the Avs facing the Bolts in a true clash of heavyweight titans. Lightning were looking to win their third straight Stanley Cup, but instead, it was the Avs winning Cup #3 overall--a six-game victory. In the time that has passed, the Avs have only advanced once, but that's one more than the Lightning, who haven't won a playoff series since the 2022 Eastern Conference Final.

112th Grey Cup Playoffs: Division Semifinals Recap
This past Saturday began the month November, and there was a lot going on in Canada. For one, the MLB season came to an end with Game Seven of the World Series in Toronto, and the earlier hours of November 1, 2025 saw the beginning of the 112th Grey Cup Playoffs, which will end in Winnipeg with the Grey Cup Championship. Speaking of Winnipeg, that's who kicked off this year's playoff, as they were the CFL's first crossover team in six years, and they were in Montréal, Quebec against the Alouettes in the Eastern Semifinal.

NFL Week 9 Recap: Same Old Song and Dance
Stop me if you heard this one before. Buffalo Bills host Kansas City Chiefs in a high-profile clash. It's in the late window, specifically the 4:25PM Eastern slot, but it's the only one in that spot, making it nationally televised. It's a close game throughout, because of course it is. And the game is won by the Bills, because it's not late January. We have seen this so many, many, many times.

West Coast Swing
Coming off the big home win against the New Jersey Devils, which saw a five-point performance, as well as the best defenseman in the league picking up four assists, the Colorado Avalanche headed across the country to Pacific Division territory. First off, some big news broke entering that brief road trip: Martin Necas is staying in Denver. Eight years, $92 million. $11.5M/year cap hit. Necas was traded to the Avs last midseason; the deal that sent Mikko Rantanen to the Hurricanes, who quickly dealt Rantanen to Dallas.

How the 112th Grey Cup Playoff Picture Was Completed
Forgive me, readers, I've been quite behind on the recaps for the Canadian Football League. I've had a few reasons. For one, the postseason being crazy as hell. Same with the NFL season, which is now in Week 9. I know I have three weeks to discuss, and we are about to enter the playoffs. I know this: there was a lot to decipher entering Week 19. So let's talk about it.

World Series Game Six: Yama-Ween
You know, it's always special when the World Series lands on Halloween. It was 24 years ago on Halloween that Derek Jeter hit his famous walk-off in Game Four of that year's World Series, earning him the "Mr. November" nickname due to the fact that it was past midnight on November 1 in New York when he homered. 2009's World Series saw Game 3 take place on Halloween, with A-Rod homering in that game. The current schedule in recent years pretty much guarantees that the Fall Classic will land on Halloween and even enter the month of November, and this year was no exception.

Simpsons Review: "Treehouse of Horror"
Happy Halloween, folks! I love Halloween so much! I'm a huge horror fan, and the month of October turns that up to 1000. Also, the holiday gives people a great excuse to feed their candy cravings, and for me and many others, we also hear the three sweetest words in the English language: Treehouse of Horror. Recently, The Simpsons aired their 36th Halloween episode, which has aired under the "Treehouse of Horror" banner title since all the way back in 1990.

The Devils and Victor Olofsson
After being hit with our first regulation loss of the season on Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche kicked off a home-and-home set against the New Jersey Devils. It's always interesting when the Avs and Devils get together. After all, this was the Stanley Cup Final in 2001. Hard to believe that this season marks the 25th anniversary of "Mission 16W," which ended with Colorado's second Stanley Cup.

What Can We Expect From an Evil Kelani Jordan?
As I've said before, the best swerves seem to come from women who I never expect to become evil. It's not just in wrestling. It's also in films, in TV shows, even literature. In this case, it is wrestling, and it's the latest episode of NXT. Coming off their Halloween Havoc event, October 28's NXT was main evented by a contest for TNA's Knockouts World Championship between champion Kelani Jordan and challenger Jordynne Grace.
