Stormy Beaches
Elliott awoke to a loud boom overhead, inhaling sharply and opening his eyes. He was still sat at his writing desk; he must have passed out writing his novel. He blinked at the dark room before him, occasionally lit up by bright flashes through the cracks in the blinds. His light must've blown again. The man sat up, running a hand through his long ginger hair, then cracked his neck as he yawned, standing with a stretch. He rubbed his eyes as he came over to the window and peeked out, watching the lightning streak across the sky through the raindrops racing down the window. He squinted a bit when he noticed something out on the beach.

My Father
When I was a young girl, I always looked up my father. I used to spend almost all of my time with him, watching him work on cars, eating his food - not mine, I would barely touch mine - and watching him play Tomb Raider or Sonic. I always thought that he was the coolest guy I'd ever known.

Communication Issues
I have communication issues. More specifically issues communicating to people one on one, but I struggle speaking up about anything publicly as well. I’ve always liked writing my thoughts out, it’s somewhat therapeutic for me to do so, but at the same time I think people may not care about any of it, or people may get mad, so I decide to keep my mouth shut and bottle things up until they sort of just… come out. This is something I’ve struggled with my entire life, but more so in the last year than any other time. Perhaps though, that may be because of my parents, or it may be from having friends get angry at me when I had any sort of thought different to theirs, whether it be politics, religion, or even something as miniscule as food preferences.

Employers vs Employees
I’ve only worked a legitimate job for about 3 months now, and I’ve definitely picked up on a few things that could be worked on better in the workplace. This could just be from my personal experience, as I’ve never worked until now, and haven’t gotten much experience in the workforce, but perhaps it can be interchangeable with other jobs as well.

How Music Connects to Our Sadness
As a person suffering from depression myself, I understand how hard it is to feel like nobody is on your side. I have felt I do not have many people to turn to that I can fully trust with my issues. The people I have trusted my problems with have complained about how I was using them as some sort of outlet to dump everything on. So instead, I decided to turn to music. I am not very good at making music, but I occasionally just make little snippets of songs that probably will not get anywhere, but they make me feel better, personally. It does not necessarily have to be sad, but incorporating sadness in it helps channel the emotions in a healthy way. Because of this, music has made a huge impact on my life, and that is only one reason of many as to why I believe music can help with depression.
