The world is falling in love, but not with each other
A marriage is something that most people often celebrate, yet for a woman in Japan it’s brought up a lot of controversy. Yurina Noguchi, a 32 year old woman married a character that she created on ChatGPT. I believe this is the first of many marriages that are going to come. While AI dating is new and probably weird for many, it’s given a space to people who fear social interaction. In our current world, it’s easy to get caught up in some drama and hurt people’s feelings or even worse, get hurt, but AI solves that. How Purity Culture has affected Gen Z’s self-esteem. Content Warning.
Like most college students, I find myself scrolling aimlessly through TikTok and Instagram Reels. Every once in a while, I’ll stumble upon a video that just completely blows me away. Recently, I watched a video about Ballerina Farm, which is about a woman who was a ballerina but gave up her career to be a traditional wife in Utah. Looking deeper, I found that she has millions of followers and many people love this content. Most comments support and even want this type of lifestyle. I don’t think it’s wrong to wish for this type of lifestyle, but it supports the idea of Purity Culture, which has been on the rise, especially among youth.

Thoughts of a College Student
Looking around my surroundings, I often find myself in amazement at life. It’s finally fall, and the temperature is falling, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy a coffee while watching the leaves fall. I’m a current freshman at a southern university, and around this time, I’m reminded of how beautiful the change of the seasons is. The luscious green leaves slowly turn into a crispy golden brown. They crackle under each step, and it brings me a sense of peace. Though how can I feel at peace when there’s so much change around me?
