How many times can love’s fire baptize you until all you are is ash?
By Chloë J.3 years ago in Poets
rush to put all the angry fires out, as if your greed didn’t set them.
flame in my belly, steady, wine-wrought, echoed in the hearth, my refuge.
sheets of rain, crashing, plummeting down in fury, seek the earth below. // directed by wind, wild and wrath-wrought, carry rain
closed the umbrella so I could feel each icy kiss-warmer than yours.
familiar scent, a clandestine gift from the wind; memory of you.
saltwater diamonds only evidence of my beating, breaking heart.
fractured water, drench my body. repair me by your own brokenness.
I will surrender, consent to sink into your icy dark embrace.
they say there’s no air in space-then how come all of the stars are burning?
sing your endless song, woebegone and hopeless, tell what pain you’ve witnessed.
baptized in the flames, they never gave you a chance to uncast your spells.
