Elevating My Role
I have always been a fan of sports. One of my favorite sports, is basketball. Every team sport, thinks it is the ultimate team sport. I won't make the case for basketball being the ultimate team sport...But I believe I can unequivocally say, basketball is the ultimate role player sport. Unlike football, you see bench players consistently rising above their supposed ability.

Parenting and Husbanding Through Grief
Before this year, I never knew how one event could affect the entire year. Over the summer my beloved sister-in-law Shannakay passed away due to COVID. Shannakay was a wonderful, warm, loving person, and anyone who knew her will her miss her dearly. This happened during the summer, so before that dreadful event, we had lived through the Winter and the Spring. Both of which were uneventful. But now when I think of year as a whole...A dark cloud lingers. If my wife is crying, I will start sentence with

If I Could Only Hold You Forever.
I'm a dad. Daddy, currently is my title. It's actually my favorite title. Of course my other titles are Husband, Unemployed Man, and Former Texas Notary. So, there isn't much competition in that regard. Unfortunately, like most titles my reign of daddy is soon coming to an end. Eventually I will just be known as...dad.
