Bio
CJ lost the plot a long time ago. Now, she writes to explore where all paths lead, collecting crumbs of perspective as her pen travels. One day, she may have enough for a cake, which will, no doubt, be fruity.

The Rubber Ball. Content Warning.
October 28th was to be the night I switched Google Locate off my phone to scratch the second itch of my life. With only a few days to go, I was hiding in my airing cupboard, knee-deep in my teenage son's sports gear, with a mobile phone jammed against my ear.

Remember, Remember, 1999 in November
Newsagent Jo The morning clung to her in drizzles. She travelled through it, toward the city, barely there, hidden within a cloak of silence. A waft of a bus pass to a concrete gaze followed by a conscientious focus on avoiding everybody else's. Head down, through the back streets, she waddled and lolloped, winding between the strewn remains of last night's large nights, a postmodern archaeology beneath which the city's skin of tarmac and loose tooth cobbles lay stoic, their battle against nature's persistent uprising and humanity's relentless footprint wearing them thin.

Why I am adding Author's Notes to my Vocal Back Catalogue
Why have I started to add backstories to my old Vocal-published work? Let me cut to the chase:- 1. I enjoy it when others do similar. I feel closer to the author when I read the perspective that motivated or framed their words. I have bought books based on the quality of the ramblings in the marginalia. Some people hate it when people write on books - I say, what were they meant to do before quick edit?!

The Hedonistic Milestones of a Self-Confessed Extrovert. Top Story - June 2023.
First, Some Background Information... If you met me, you would easily peg me as an archetypal extrovert: confident, optimistic, and a lover of people. The ten-mile-wide smile that is always, always on my face would undoubtedly give this away before we even had a conversation. Then, as we got to know each other and hung out a little, you would note how comfortable I am in most situations, irrespective of the dynamic, and if we moved on to nights out together, you would watch as this confidence manifested itself further to the point where you would see me think nothing of making my way onto any dance floor, to dance... often on my own.

Betwixt the Bell Heather
Sian was a jewel whose violet eyes could sink through my soul like a depth charge. Wild as the sea and gentle as a doe, her luminescence shone underneath the greyest of Hebridean skies, emanating joy like a gravitational beacon. Infectious, moreish, the warmth of her aura radiated through the forlorn and brittle Craggs of our weathered isle; even her shadow nurtured life. I swear the bell heather leaned into her for inspiration as she travelled betwixt it.
