Autumnal Twist in Time
Autumn twists and turns with each forward movement in the changing of the year. Happy new year everybody, and I'll say the same thing on the first day of winter, wherever I may be. Regarding each new season with the same enthusiasm as a new year makes it bright and beautiful. We can carry smaller packages of our life's plans farther by looking at it that way, instead of the scope of a vast landscape of a full year. May the leaves bring good tidings.

The Rich Man's Clothes. Top Story - September 2024.
An emperor who had no clothes was once gifted with a rich man's attire. Wearing them seemed like a breeze in the air covering his soul. His steps quickened and the marvellous seemed possible. Even his daydreams seemed remarkable but there was nowhere to put them so he stuffed his hands in his pockets. With no touch to his senses, the world became cloudy - no gift giving his new point of view. Through the mind of an apple, his thoughts grew...if only I can. The apple became a new world he could almost taste. Then he realized that the apple and the clothes were not his own, nor the windswept thoughts between the threads. So he made bare his mortality and walked naked in the sunlight.

Weeping Trees. Top Story - September 2024.
I look up at the turnip-coloured sun in a sort of realization. At the same time, I'm astounded by the desensitization of a civilization. It's almost like a lapse in intelligence in the collective. I'm not depressed, I don't believe in emotional lags. I prefer the temple swept with inspiration even if pouring down is a dilemma.

This is My Camping Story
I'm not much of an outdoorsy girl. I will be the first to confess that. I am allergic to at least a dozen outdoor plants and weeds and have asthma. So, in early spring and late summer, I avoid the outdoors unless I am sunbathing at the beach. I think I could live on a beach towel for as long as waves exist.

The Cup Stirs Itself
It was the year 1900. The storyteller, (ahem)...I mean, the Fortune Teller stared into the teacup with great concern. She swirled it this way, then that, tipped it a bit first to the right, then to the left, and lifted her head to stare at her client with a raised eyebrow at Miss Butter Tart in front of her. The young woman was all of 22 years old. Bright red curls piled on her head with a hairpiece, long skirt, gloves and fashionable bag. Her chaperone waited outside. Spoiled, indifferent, but not carefree - the word was not invented yet in the context of womanhood.

Vocal Media
My anniversary of writing on Vocal Media has come and gone and like the rest of the summer is, I'm catching up a bit. Not that I am that bent on sentiment, but sometimes it is good to remember where we started before we get going, which has been my plan for almost as long as I've been writing on here and almost as long as this run-on sentence, haha.
