Watching 'One Punch Man' Season 2
One Punch Man Season 2 is produced by J.C. Staff, not Madhouse Studios, as a result of scheduling conflicts, and the twelve episode season started airing in the spring season of 2019. The new director in charge of the show is Sakurai Chikara (episode director Shokugeki no Souma Season 2, Little Busters) with Miyazaki Makoto (One Punch Man, Triage X) returning to do the music. The narrative continues to follow the one that has been laid out by One, who is the author behind the original web manga. Both Furukawa Makoto (Orange, Golden Time), and Ishikawa Kaito (Battery The Animation, Golden Time) return to voice their characters Saitama and Genos respectively.

Watching 'Attack on Titan' Season 3 Part 2
Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 (why we cannot just call it season four, I will never know) is produced by Studio Wit (Empire of Corpses, Hal), as is the case with the previous seasons of Attack on Titan. Attack on Titan is based on the hit manga of the same name by Isayama Hajime. This segment of the show aired during the spring season of 2019 and is composed of ten episodes in total. Araki Tetsurou returns to the director’s chair to continue working on the show, as does composer Sawano Hiroyuki. This season picks up the narrative exactly where it left off and continues to follow the lives of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin as the core of the anime. These three characters are played by Kaji Yuki (My Hero Academia, Blue Spring Ride), Ishikawa Yui (Violet Evergarden, Seraph of the End), and Inoue Marina (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Blue Spring Ride) respectively.

Watching 'Shaft' 2019
Shaft (2019) is the third incarnation of the Shaft franchise that all exist in the same continuity, with the third generation Shaft taking the lead this time around. The film stars Jesse T. Usher (Level Up, Independence Day: Resurgence, Almost Christmas) as the third generation Shaft, Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace) as the second generation Shaft, and Richard Roundtree (Shaft, Brick, Speed Racer) returning to the franchise to reprise his role as the first generation, original Shaft. In addition, the film stars Regina Hall (Girls Trip, Scary Movie, Law Abiding Citizen), and Alexandra Shipp (Love, Simon, X-Men Apocalypse, Straight Outta Compton) as supporting characters. The film is directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Think Like a Man, Fantastic Four), and is written by prolific TV writers Kenya Barris (Girls Trip, Black-ish, Barbershop: The Next Cut) and Alex Barnow (The Goldbergs, Mr. Sunshine, Rule of Engagement). The film has a runtime of 111 minutes and was distributed in the UK by Netflix.

Watching 'The Rising of the Shield Hero'
The Rising of the Shield Hero is a winter 2019 anime based on the novel by Aneko Yusagi (Story), and Minami Seira (Art). The show is produced by Studio Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss, Barakamon), and is directed by Abo Takao (Black Lagoon The Second Barrage—episode director, Made in Abyss—storyboard). The music is composed by Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss). The show has three central characters, Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo, who are played by Ishikawa Kaito (Days, Haikyuu!!, My Hero Academia), Seto Asami (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, B: The Beginning), and Hidaka Rina (Sword Art Online, Bakuman) respectively.

Cinema Trips 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the second stand alone Spider-Man film that exists within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film stars Tom Holland (The Impossible, The Lost City of Z, In the Heart of the Sea), Jacob Batalon (Every Day, Banana Split, Blood Fest), Jon Favreau (Chef, John Carter, Friends), and Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Smallfoot, The OA) as part of the returning cast as Peter Parker, Ned, Happy and M.J. respectively. Joining the cast is also Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Red Violin, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace), and Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko, Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain) playing the established Nick Fury and newcomer to the universe Mysterio. Director John Watts (Clown, Cop Car), and writers Chris McKenna (Igor, The Lego Batman Movie, Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle), and Erik Sommers (The Lego Batman Movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) return behind the camera. The film runs for 129 minutes.

Watching 'Dororo'
Dororo is an adaptation of the classic manga that was written and illustrated by the legendary mangaka Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy). The show is a co-production between studio MAPPA (Terror in Resonance), and Tezuka Productions (Young Black Jack). Furuhashi Kazuhiro (Hunter x Hunter) took on directing duties, while Ike Yoshihiro (Days, Ergo Proxy) created the music for the show. Dororo started airing in the winter season of 2019, and ran for 24 episodes.

Watching 'Ao-Chan Can't Study'
Ao-Chan Can’t Study is a spring 2019 anime that is based off of the manga by Ren Kawahara. The anime is produced by Silver link Studios (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia), and is directed by Keisuke Inoue. The series composition is done by Michiko Yokote, who also wrote some of the scripts for the likes of Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Bleach, and Ranma ½. The show is made up of twelve episodes, each of which is twelve minutes long. As such this is a show that you can be done watching in the space of two and a half hours.

Toy Story 4 is the fourth installment of the Disney/Pixar franchise that has been in existence since 1995. The film stars Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Big), Tim Allen (Galaxy Quest, The Santa Clause), Annie Potts (Ghostbusters, Pretty in Pink), Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep), Keegan-Michael Key (The Predator, Tomorrowland), Jordan Peele (Captain Underpants, Storks), and Keanu Reeves (The Matrix, John Wick). The final screenplay for the film was written by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E, John Carter). Randy Newman (Monsters, Inc., Pleasantville) returns to the franchise to compose the music, and the film was directed by Josh Cooley (feature length debut).

Brightburn is a 2019 indie sci-fi/horror film starring Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Power Rangers), David Denman (The Office, Power Rangers), and Jackson A. Dunn (Avengers: Endgame, Shameless). The trio form the family of this Superman-esque narrative that takes a look at what would happen if this godlike being ended up being a bad egg, with Jackson playing the super powered alien. The film is directed by David Yarovesky (The Hive), and is written by Brian Gunn (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island), and Mark Gunn (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island). The film is also produced by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Slither), with the music being done by Tim Williams.

Watching 'Kakegurui xx'
Kakegurui xx is the second season to the 2017 anime Kakegurui, that was produced by studio MAPPA. It carries on where the previous season left off, where Jabami Yumeko is constantly gambling at Kyakkaou Academy for the simple pleasure of gambling. Although, around her there are constant struggles for power, clan power dynamics, high school hierarchies (in a very literal sense), and students simply trying their best to survive the hand that they had been dealt. As it was with the previous season, this is an outlandish show, with ridiculous characters, nonsensical narrative points, ludicrous stakes, all contained inside a mind numbingly stupid concept.

Cinema Trips - 'Men in Black: International'
Men in Black: International is the fourth film in the Men in Black franchise, taking place in the same reality as the Will Smith films while also acting as a soft reboot of sorts. The Men in Black films are based on the comic by Lowell Cunningham published by Malibu/Marvel Comics. This film is directed by F. Gary Grey (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate of the Furious), and is written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man). The film stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who reunite on-screen after their exploits in Thor Ragnarok, Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible - Fallout), Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), and another actor reunion in Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson, who were in Love Actually together. The film cost $110 million to produce, runs for 115 minutes and was distributed by Sony Pictures.
