What Is Lady Like?
When I used to hear the word lady like I'd think of reprimanding, scolding, and, quite honestly, the 18th century. I'd picture women in fluffy dresses with corsets who are constantly reminding each other to stay in their place. I'd think of my mother popping my hand telling me not to move a certain way because she decided to adorn me in a dress for the day. I'd remember teachers in school saying that I wasn't acting like a lady when my sassiness and strong opinion wasn't appreciated. Overall I viewed Lady Like as an undercover way of silencing a woman without out right telling her to be quiet.

A Mom Who's Willing To Buy Simplicity
As a single mom of two boys, who are under the age of seven, its positively imperative that everything is done in a timely manner, with the least amount of tears or tantrums. Like any parent its a juggling game between laundry, naps, cooking, work, soccer practice and everything else that we try and include in our daily schedules.

Unifying The Voices Of Women
Over the years the answer to what it means to be a woman has changed. Before to be a lady or a woman was to be soft spoken and reserved, to mostly be seen and not heard. There were roles and expectations placed that set us as women in a small box that was taped shut by society. We were expected to have and raise children, to marry, take care of households. and overall, to leave the hard stuff to the men.

Raising My Son's With The Future In Mind
As a mother of two boys, it’s particularly important for me to raise them to be strong understanding men. Men who do not walk around as if they are superior or better than anyone. Men who understand that it’s not okay to laugh when "friends" catcall, disrespect, or objectify women. Men who will stand up and reach out in whatever way they can when they see other men harming. Men who will understand that it’s never just a joke.

Egyptian Mummies: A 17th Century Delicacy
We all had to sit through the Egyptian history and explanations of why and how mummies were mummified. As teens we learned how they felt whatever they took with them when they died would also show up in the after life. They went through great lengths to mummify pharos and religious animals. So imagine my surprise when I learned that years later people were breaking into tombs to eat these mummies and/or use their body parts for medicinal reasoning.

Two Wrongs
Roger sat in the old bar chair nursing a drink in one hand and smoking a cigarette in the other. He stared off into nothing as he went over more excuses, he could give his wife as to why he lost another job. “Ro” she’d say in exasperation. “This is the third job this month. How are we ever going to be a family when you can’t even support the two of us”. He smirked as he imagined walking up to her and kissing her perfect pink lips before placing a kiss on her forehead.

My 60 Day Review Of Vocal Media
What Is Vocal Media? Vocal Media is a writing platform that allows you to make money writing articles. It accepts a multitude of content across various categories. Like many other platforms it does use the CPM (cost per mille) or in layman terms cost per thousand algorithm. Which, to put it even simpler, just means that you get paid a certain amount per thousand reads depending on if you're using the free service or if you've subscribed to Vocal Plus.

Hidden Talent
Sheryl sat on the park bench doing her favorite activity, people watching. She smiled as two people held a child’s hand and swung her as they walked through the green grass. She watched as the couple laying on a picnic blanket laughed at something the other had said. The jogger who stopped to lean against the tree and take a swig of water from his bottle that had condensation dripping from the outside of it.
