Chocolate On A Tuesday
Detective Zachary Moore made his way to the door of the Sunshine Diner, sighing. He opened the door, nodding at the waitress. Being a regular, he’s familiar with the entire staff. Moore sits down in the nearest booth, waiting for the waitress to take his order. The detective ran his hands over his beard, sighing. It had been a long day, much too long for his taste. And here he was stuck, waiting in a diner, when he could be in his bed. Moore reached into his pocket, grasping a cigarette. He lights his cigarette, puffing out smoke. “What can I get for you today, Detective?”, the waitress asks with a smile.

Cut The Cake
Levi stood outside the mansion of Damian “The Owl” Sparby, clad in his signature black trench coat and combat gloves. Levi looked around the premises, it was well known that “The Owl” never had security placed on the outside of his mansion. He didn’t feel he needed it; he was untouchable. The cops couldn’t touch him, and any competition of his was too afraid to make any sort of move. Well, not everyone was too afraid. Levi looked through the window, seeing The Owl eat a slice of chocolate cake. Chocolate Cake was the Owl’s sign, or reward for what he felt was another success; a celebration for a job well down. Levi walked around to the back, searching for the power switch. These kinds of mansions always had an obnoxious power switch.

Two Slices
I waited in the diner, checking my watch. It had been two years since the breakup...since she took my heart and shattered it in two. I closed my eyes; the pain has never subsided. Knowing I would see her and talk to her again...that was a lot to deal with. There were a lot of emotions to work through....a lot. As I was lost in my thoughts, I heard the door open and there she was, just as beautiful as I remembered.

Murder In The Barn
Detective Zachary Moore took out his cigarette, shaking his head. He stood in the middle of an old barn; dead bodies of the victims strewn around him. Two dead, a husband and wife. They were killed in gruesome fashion; the kind that makes you struggle to get any sleep for days. It was late, too late to be out in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps a farm in Kansas was not actually in the middle of nowhere, but it was close enough. He checked his watch, muttering his annoyance. He was supposed to be here by now, why was that man always late?

The Cost Of Vengeance
Levi stood at the top of the large rooftop, staring down at the destruction. He knows he shouldn’t be here, but he just can’t help it. This used to be a wonderful neighborhood. The kind where all the neighborhood kids played together, and people were happy. The kind where everyone knew each other. The kind where you could raise a family. All that changed after it happened. After that experiment went horribly wrong and sent out the energy blast.
