Want to Feel Better? Take Your Life Pulse.
We live in a culture addicted to acceleration. There’s a warped pride in our ‘Age of Acceleration’ in fact (just ask Thomas Friedman…). Coffee-fuelled mornings blur into high-intensity workouts, long working hours, and late-night emails. Productivity is celebrated, whilst peace is too often neglected. And yet all living systems - from our heartbeat to the tides - operate on one simple truth: rhythm.

Urgently Addressing Burnout: A Critical Step Ahead of International Women’s Day
This makes me sad. According to last week’s publication of the 2025 Mental Health UK Report on Burnout, a staggering 68% of UK women report feeling burnt out, with 45% of women saying they feel emotionally exhausted every single day. Every Single Day. That is most definitely not soaring. That is not work being joyful. That is just plain awful.

Softness & Surrender As Antidotes to Stress
In the Christmas wind down, I wound up. As work slowed, everything else accelerated. Decorating, gifting, hosting, making the magic as ever. Mary Yuletide Poppins I became! Loving it! Giving gives me joy. But this year, the universe sprinkled a couple of curveballs onto the festivities. Twice, yes twice, I woke to a flooded kitchen. Twice. Two separate burst pipes, two separate areas of the kitchen, two separate days, two different destructive burst pipes. And for extra seasonal sizzle, dear Unipops planned both incidents the day before I was hosting my annual feasts for 20 or so people. One on the very day guests were flying in from over seas and pilgrimaging down from Britain’s North to stay with me. On the actual day we had no running water, no heating, destroyed furniture and rafts of workmen carving up carpets and floorboards upstairs trying to locate the leaks. 7 Ways to Manage Burnout When Feeling Trapped
According to Gallup 3 out of every 4 of us feel burnt out at work often. That is ludicrously high. That is intense. That is definitely unsustainable. The mega challenge with burnout at work is that generally we feel trapped in the work environment so our gloomy state rapidly worsens as we can’t plot a solution or indeed an escape quicky enough.

So, Whose Responsibility is Burnout Anyway?
In today’s fast-paced, hyper-connected world, burnout has become a global catastrophe, silently eroding the foundations of our workforce and society at large. As we navigate the complexities of modern work life, a pressing question emerges: who bears the responsibility for combating this depressingly ever-worsening threat?

Is Caffeine as Dangerous as Cocaine?
Caffeine is the world’s most popular psychoactive substance. It’s celebrated for its ability to boost alertness and energy, to zing us up. But its impact on the brain and body is far more nuanced than many realize, and far more individual than we give it credit for. While caffeine is not necessarily as addictive or harmful as cocaine per se, its neurological and physiological effects deserve closer scrutiny as society has normalised its excessive consumption as standard and funnily enough we’re in the midst of an unprecedented human energy burnout crisis.

The Blessing Of Mistakes
Ah, the aromatic tang of mulled wine, smoking logs and damp dogs, it’s winter, it’s Christmas and the end of the year is nigh. Time to reflect on 12 months of grind and growth and memories made as the clocks tick steadily onwards for it to all begin cyclically once more on 1st Jan. Did we hit our well-intended New Year goals set this time last year? Did we gloriously succeed or miserably fail at our shiny ‘best year yet’? Any regrets? Any cringy mistakes cowering in our Shame Centres?
