Misaligned Expectations. Top Story - February 2025.
Post-COVID there feels as though there is a level of expectation that sits at the heart of the nation (England). Every time I walk down the road I need to move out of the way of other human beings as they are more important than me. Many of my 10,000 steps a day are now spent weaving in and out of crowds, whereas before COVID there was courtesy.

Focus Time
How often are we taught in our lives that we need to multi-task? Ever since birth, I have been informed of the benefits of doing more than one thing at a time. It is something that on the surface sounds incredibly logical, as why would you not wish to reduce two half an hour tasks into one 45-minute bubble?

When you consider the word simple, what do you think? Do you ponder the letters in the word, the experiences it conjures up such as lounging in the bath or does it take you back to childhood? Wherever it takes you, there is one common thread and that is the lack of complexity.

Prioritising
Sometimes in life, you achieve more in a day than in a month. You need to accept this and be prepared for this as when you have high expectations (as I do), it can be frustrating. This is one of the reasons why I set myself objectives for the coming year with individual items that I can tick off line by line.

Passing Judgement
In the interest of fairness, we all need to allow judgement to passed against ourselves at certain moments. We need to acknowledge that we are human and can succumb to those urges of passion, which for me revolves around spending money that I do not have.

Fizzling Out
Do you ever have those days where literally everything you do seems to fizzle out quicker than it begins? Those days where you simply cannot wait for the end to occur as you are left in the quagmire of proceedings, unable to decide whether or not to move forward or stay still.
