Things I've Learnt Since 2020
2020 seemed like decades ago now.....Cause we've all changed alot, our lives, friends, family, work, everything... am I right!? Well before 2020, I ended up in the ER with an open hand surgery on Christmas Eve of 2019, then following I was on bed rest for two weeks. Then let's just say that nasty word happened that is all over the news and still disrupts our daily lives....I'm over the whole situation and just don't want to simply let it drain my energy anymore. I think sometimes the best thing is to take back your own power, do your own thing, live the damn best life possible.

You can't Hurt Me I lost Someone I Didn't Even Get to Say Goodbye too.
Throughout my young life I decided at a young age I would be driven, ambitious and an overachiever. I wanted to get alot done when I was young so, I guess that it was done and out of the way. Maybe, I felt pressure from my parents as they were older and the fact was I wanted them to see me accomplish a lot throughout their lifetimes. I wanted them to be in awe of how wonderful and driven their daughter was. When I look at my life now and some of the things I have accomplished, I am definitely proud of myself and my hard work.

Canada is a Hockey Culture
When you hear the word Canadian what words come to mind ? Winter, Tim Horton's and definitely HOCKEY. Hockey is the one pastime that most Canadians have a story about. They either grew up with a guy who played hockey, they played hockey or they dated a hockey player. Whatever the story was, it's the one thing that united all Canadians together. It was a familiarity and even a comfortable place where everyone forgot their differences and got together to cheer for a game.

A Slice of True Love
As she sat in the dark light parlour at the restaurant she began to get nervous. She always got nervous on dates, this one sat different though. She had felt the butterflies creep up into her stomach, her palms got nervous and she felt anxiety kicking in. She had usually been calm and cool on dates but this one felt different for some unknown reason to her. She reached down to adjust her dress slip for the thousandth time, the black satin dress slip and black satin pumps matched each other perfectly. She paired pearl earrings and a matching necklace for the evening. A classic look to enjoy with the gentleman she was spending tonight’s dinner with.

The Summer I'll Never Forget
I spent the summer in the country, I enjoyed nature and the animals. They offered a refuge to me as being quiet that I didn't get to experience in the city. The city was busy, hectic and bustling with activity. From the constant construction, noisy traffic, events and constant work life. I loved to seek quiet within nature just to bring back my overall mental health. It was a judgment free zone where I could wear old sundresses and sandals, with unpainted toes and unkempt hair. Just a place to be wild and free with our authentic selves. Just us alone with ourselves and nature, not another soul in sight that could judge me.

The Heart Shaped Locket
The pandemic way of living was the most eerie feeling day and night. As the woman wandered the darkened streets alone even though it was just 9pm at night but no one was to be seen. Anyone who was there was just keeping themselves inside the house. She reached in her pocket of her vintage coat and felt deep in her pocket the object she was searching for. My Passion for a Healthy Lifestyle
A bit about me. I have been an athlete since I was 6 years old. I had started as a competitive swimmer at a young age. Swimming was an outlet for me from my life and some of my childhood and family issues. I continued to compete in more Sports as a healthy outlet for me and to gain confidence and a positive mindset. I became a champion in over 9 sports, and went on to coach many other fitness, children, adults, amateur and professional athletes as well. Since a young age I didn’t want to eat meat. It was unappealing to me. My family forced me and I accepted it, at 13 I tried to be vegetarian after 8 months and nervous about vitamin deficiencies I stopped. By the time I was 24 I was eating mostly farm grown veggies and consuming organic meats.

The Magical Dessert
Every family seems to have that one dish…...You know that infamous dish that no one can get enough of. The one that everyone loves and eats, tries to replicate but fails. The one dish that gets demanded at all family gatherings, and there is never enough of it. In my house we had that dish and it was always made by my step-mother. It was her amazing Apple Crumble that was completely made from scratch. She won over people we invited over with her dish and I had wanted my first husband to try her famous Apple Crumble someday….you know to convince him to marry me. Hahaha…..A girl has to have a secret weapon, something sorta magical to convince a man.
