Mortality
I first noticed him when I was 10 years old. My family’s dog had just died, and my dad buried her in the back yard. We were standing around the makeshift grave, and my mom was giving a eulogy that I’m sure was beautiful, but I can’t remember it. What I do remember is looking through teary eyes and noticing him looking on from a distance. My vision was blurred, but I could just make out the figure of a man, or something like a man, in dark robes. I couldn’t see a face, but I knew he was watching me.

The Fall
Azazel marched at Lucifer’s side followed by a number of angels so large that the stamp of their feet and the beating of their wings drowned out all other noise, and his confidence had steadily been growing. Their rebellion might actually succeed. But once he saw what waited for them in the city of heaven, his confidence wavered. Angels crowded every street and hovered in the air so that the city itself could not be seen. The soft glow of the golden streets and the glint of the diamond and pearl buildings were replaced by a shimmering light emanating from the weapons and armor of thousands upon thousands of angels ready for war. Their number easily doubled the size of Lucifer’s own army.

The Last Dragon
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. They had come in a day of calamity and turned this verdant land into a valley of bones. For hundreds of years the beasts ruled, terrorizing the nearby kingdoms. For hundreds of years no one could stand up to them, but times had changed. The heroes of The Hunters’ Guild had committed themselves to serving Feldir by hunting the monsters who invade the land of Felheim. They had been effective. The dragons were almost extinct, and only one remained.
