I think about writing more than I write, but call myself a writer as opposed to a thinker.

One Last Time. Content Warning.
I hadn’t entered the room since the night that it happened. How could I? Everything about her space remained the same. Frozen in time. I was afraid to face it. Afraid of the day we may move away from this house, and everything she’s ever touched will be lost forever. But tonight, I swallowed my heart and reached for the knob. The white wooden door was covered with posters of her favorite tv shows and musical artists. On top of the collage a sign that said “DO NOT ENTER” was nailed into the wood. Too Bad, Abby. I’m entering.

Is Flying Really The Safest Mode Of Transportation?
I have to fly tomorrow, and I'm terrified. I really don't like it. I don't enjoy the "full" feeling that builds in my head during take-off. The whole experience makes me lightheaded and nauseous. However, flying is a necessary "evil," for it's much easier to endure 2 hours in a plane than drive 12-14 hours on American highways. I figured, what better way to ease my mind than to write an article about the safety (or lack thereof (more to be determined)) of flying?

A Look at Dead Poets Society . Content Warning.
THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO AVOID THIS MOVIE BEING SPOILED, TURN BACK NOW. Yes, that's right. I had never seen Dead Poets Society before last night, despite one of my English professors playing a small role in its creation, which made me want to see the movie even more over the past 5 years. He taught an Introduction to British Literature class during my junior year of college. He was one of three English teachers who worked at the private school where the movie was filmed at the time, and he was the 'standing on the desk' guy. I know what you're thinking, yes, he stood on the desk during both the first and last class we had with him. He was also a wonderful professor. I thought it was so cool because even though I hadn't seen the movie, I had heard about it, and I loved Robin Williams. For anyone wondering, he said Robin was a fantastic, down-to-earth man.

Let's Talk About Mental Health. Content Warning.
I've been struggling lately, and I just realized it. Funny how things catch up to you like that. I had a dreadful week. I couldn't muster up the stamina to get nearly any freelance work done, rationalizing my decision with the fact that I have minuscule savings holding me afloat. Even though I wasn't working, I actively avoided working on my book with my deadline quickly approaching. The dishes in my kitchen sink have reached Mount Everest's potential - I even bought paper plates to continue avoiding them. Don't even get me started on laundry; I haven't touched the washer and dryer in two weeks.

Like Mike
"We Are The Champions" blares through the truck radio, and my dad and I scream along. It's a beautiful evening, the sun is just beginning to set, and the windows are all the way down. We are on the way back from my baseball practice, and I hadn't won anything, but I felt like a winner spending time with my dad.
