Letters to my ancestors
In terms of a creative project that I have worked on recently is writing letters to my ancestors. I find this very cathartic and it brings me inner peace. One of my relatives in India gave me and many other relatives our comprehensive family tree that goes back to around 1500. My ancestor then was a gentleman named Rai Gulab Chand. He was a minister for a king in Kashmir, India, but then had to move to Awadh (now Uttar Pradesh, India) and since then most of his future generations lived in and around the Jaunpur area.

The Pear Tree in My Old House
Ramesh Goyal was looking forward to retirement. His last posting was in Darjeeling, India and he had about a year left before he would retire and then go live in his ancestral house in Patna. Right now his son Sooraj and daughter-in-law Malti lived in his ancestral house because Ramesh was working at a law office in Patna. Ramesh wanted his son to live in their house as for the past few years he was living and working in another city. It was October 2007 and Ramesh was delighted to visit Sooraj and his family because Sooraj and Malti became parents of a new baby daughter a few days ago. They named their daughter Vinita.

Sanjay Dutt - the superstar
One of my favourite Indian actors is Sanjay Dutt. In my opinion he is a superstar. He has worked in more than 100 movies in the last 30+ years. Whenever I see a movie with him in it I do not focus on the other actors because I am in his awe of his presence and acting.

An acting powerhouse - Sanjeev Kumar
I would like to remember one of India's finest actors the late great Sanjeev Kumar today. Unfortunately he died in 1985 at the relatively young age of 47. In a career spanning more than 20 years he worked in about 100 Hindi movies. Most of his movies were very good and his performances were top notch. He won several acting awards during his career. I plan on discussing a few of his performances - the ones I have enjoyed the most over the years.

Sorry sometimes doesn't cut it
This is my friend Deepak Singh's story. Each time I think what he went through I tear up. Deepak and I live a few minutes from each other in Cinncinnati, U.S.A. Deepak immigrated to the US from India with his parents and two brothers in 1997. They are originally from Barielly. In 2000 Deepak started working at Williamson & Kapadia Accountants in Cinncinnati. I met him there. At that time I was working at the firm for nearly 3 years. Soon we became good friends. After many years when we got married our wives also became friends and now Deepak's son is good friends with my daughters.
