What is Positive Psychology
Positive Psychology is a form of therapy developed by Nossrat Peseschkian in Germany in 1968. The author discovered that using stories and fairy-tales as well as examples of other cultures, the patient is more prone to becoming capable of broadening his perspectives over his own problems, issues and conflicts and he can look at himself as well as to others from different angles, enabling the patient to treat his conflicting thoughts, ideas and situations.

HOW TO THINK LIKE SHERLOCK HOLMES
“Holmes was a detective second to none, it is true. But his insights into the human mind rival his greatest feats of criminal justice. What Sherlock Holmes offers isn’t just a way of solving crimes. It is an entire way of thinking, a mindset … a model for thinking, a way of being.” (Maria Konnikova)

10 UNEXPECTED THINGS THAT HAPPEN WHEN YOU STUDY PSYCHOLOGY
1. You will better understand yourself and the people around you. You will understand behaviour and will wonder at the theory of it all surrounding it. But you need to know that, that will not make you an expert in figuring out people once you have graduated. And you will clearly not be able to spot anything in other people’s mind. But if you want to read minds, here’s how you can do it.

SHOULD AND MUST IN THE PURSUIT OF PASSIONS AND DREAMS
It is time you followed your dreams, passions and talents. The pursuit of happiness is the pursuit of your vocation. If you feel you are not living at the fullness of your life it is because you are not expressing the fullness of your gifts, of your talents, of your passions.

1 WEEK 0 BREAD
Yeast is a fungus. Yeast is found in bread. Consuming too much bread can have a negative impact on your health because, first of all, it is a carb, and carbohydrates transform in the bloodstream into sugar, which in turn, can cause issues to your overall health (taking that into account plus, nowadays, people have a desert after each meal, and in between meals as a snack, because, hey, stress and modern world, can you imagine how strong your body must be to be able to process so much sugar?). Sugar is the most toxic substance that exists out there for the human body and that we intake unknowingly. Therefore, reducing the sugar intake as well as being more mindful about consuming carbohydrates is my main priority. Because health is my main priority.

Ecstasy is a Step into an Alternative Reality
If you do not know by now who Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is, let me enlighten you. The book “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience” is based on the authors ‘interviews of people who appeared to obtain a lot out of life, either in their work or their extracurricular activities – not only the artists and musicians, but also people from all walks of life, including surgeons and business leaders, and those who found satisfaction in sports and games. Csikszentmihalyi found that all of them described a similar sensation when they were totally engaged in an activity they enjoyed and could do well. They all reported achieving a state of mind with no sense of self, in which things came to them automatically – a feeling of “flow”.

1 YEAR OF INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT FASTING
No, no, it’s not a misspelling. This is all about my 1-year experience of intermittently doing intermittent fasting. Last year in the beginning of May, I came across some information about fasting on YouTube. I knew a bit about fasting and what it does and what it means to the body from the religious point of view. Yes, and the food you are supposed to eat and not eat during the fasting period. However, intermittent fasting was something new to me at the time. At least the concept or the name given, because in a way I had been practising it when I was younger before going to uni.

EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL CAUSES OF DISEASES
I have first heard about the connection between physical disease and emotions back in 2008 when I was still a student of Psychology. During that year, I became very passionate about Positive Psychology (soon I will be writing about it too) and a new interest or therapy, an alternative healing method named the Bach Flower Therapy, created by Edward Bach who was a doctor and a homeopath. The Bach Flower therapy relies on the fact that healing our emotions is relevant for overcoming our diseases.
