I've always found creating stories therapeutic so I thought I'd write them down! I enjoy a lot of things so prepare for fiction, music, art, or whatever I feel like writing about today!

Hide and Seek
I pull the the rotting door of the barn closed behind us, hoping desperately that they wouldn’t find us here. Our knees cut and bloody, we limp effortfully over the creaky floorboards, with clouds of dust filling the air with every step. On the other side of the room a large opening shows a glimpse of the great outside, though the colours have darkened and shifted from their brilliant blue. I’ve never seen the great ceiling turn red before.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit" This simple but iconic first line sparks a vivid childhood memory in the minds of many regardless of age. Stories as timeless as the tale of Bilbo the hobbit have won the hearts of entire families with parents who grew up reading them eager to pass down their favourite stories to future generations. My family was certainly no exception.

Alone in the Stars
START TRANSMISSION It’s been three months since I lost contact with planet earth. Our supplies are running low, our ship is too damaged to attempt a landing and my crew have lost their minds to the point of madness. Our fuel levels won’t allow us to turn back now, and all that lies ahead of us is a barren world with little hope of long-term survival. I fear that this may be the end. I miss the Earth. I miss the greenery that comes so naturally to the world I was born in. I miss the warmth of the sun on my skin and watching the sky turn red as it sinks into the haze of the horizon. But it’s you I miss most of all, my love.

A Character in someone else's story
The warm glow of the crackling fire illuminates the joyful faces of those who gather around it. This college room may be small but is full of relationships. A young couple sit on the floor, holding each other close as they watch the flames dance on the hearth. Another girl laughs along with the group as she carefully suspends a marshmallow over the heat of the fire. A laptop emits a sweet melody that fills all with good spirit. As I stand in the corner watching the picturesque scene play out like a slice-of-life movie, for a moment everything seems perfect in the world.
