Lead Custodian at a High School
I have always been that parent who not only volunteers in the classrooms of my own two daughters, but is always the classroom mother, in charge of classroom parties, projects, bulletin boards and anything else the teacher may need. That parent who always seems to go from my own children’s classrooms, to other classrooms that did not have parent helpers. I am the parent that always seems to run the PTA, library groups, running club groups, fundraisers, book fairs and more. When our daughters were younger I would take them to school every day, and walk out with them ten or twelve hours later, depending on meetings or events going on. Today I am proud to say that I have continued volunteering in the classrooms, only now I am able to go in and support my Grand children's classes, and I would not change a thing.

The Rock House
Working 2 jobs just to pay rent, and what I didn’t spend on rent went for electricity, gas and insurance. It was a never ending circle with no end in sight. One day I woke up and that was it. I collected my final paychecks, gave away all my furniture and personal belongings, keeping only my bed, a few dishes and a couple basic things I would need. Closed all my accounts, basically my life as I knew it and I disappeared. On paper I no longer existed. Such a relief came over me, I felt like I could breathe, I mean really breathe and I haven’t had that feeling in a long time.

The Box That Keeps On Giving
I must confess before the world Pandemic of Covid-19 I personally might have shopped Amazon, maybe 3 times in my life. Nothing against them, being in my mid- fifties I wasn’t keen on the idea of converting to computers, internet or high tech things, I was comfortable doing things as I have always done them. Since Covid-19, I with the rest of the world have used them more than before. Especially when going to the store was not an option. Thus being said, my husband and our oldest daughter have always used them. They use them so much that there are days they deliver to our house 3-4 times a day. It would infuriate me when I would get home from work and on the table there are boxes with that ever so trustful label “Amazon”.

My Mom Yvonne
Yvonne is my mom’s name. For those that were closest to her they called her Vonnie. It was a nickname she grew up with her entire life. Vonnie means “Victory bringer, womanly and brave”. I cannot think of a more fitting name for her. She carried her name with such pride, so much in fact that my middle name is Yvonne. A name in which I hope I was able to have shown her I also carry proudly.

Peacock Village
Peacock Village The definition of a Family Tradition is, “an aggregate of attitude, ideas and ideals and environment, which a person inherits from their parents and ancestors”. With family dynamics changing in this world on a daily basis, so does the family tradition. During my time it was something passed down from generation to generation. That’s not true anymore it can be a new tradition that families start and not necessarily one that was passed down. Where does that line cross where it becomes a “Family Tradition” or “Building Memories”? While I say it’s both, friends of mine tend to disagree. This being the case over the last year of lock downs, shutdowns and the unknown, my family found a way to deal with the grand kids schools and activities suddenly being gone, along with everything else in the country.

My Gemini
Before I met him, I fell in Love with him. I knew this life coming into this world was not only going to change my life, but the future lives of every person he is destined to meet. This little person, the young boy, the grown man he will become. The impact he will leave will be out of this world just like the astrological sign he was meant to be, the third in the universe, a Gemini.
