I’m usually the last to admit that I’m picky when it comes to anime, but here I am, ready to confess my anime sins. Compared to where the industry was some ten years ago, Japanese animation has become a worldwide mainstream topic for people from all walks of life. Back in the day, anime felt more niche, like a dirty secret that you had to keep hidden otherwise you’d be bullied for it at school. Many more shows then flew under the radar and coming across good ones felt like you had uncovered a hidden gem.

Book Review: Odin's Child by Siri Peterson
Strolling into Barnes & Noble one weekend just to ‘look’ around turned into a book shopping spree that left me $80 poorer than when I had walked in. But, out of that expensive book haul, I came away with my first foreign fantasy book: Odin’s Child by Siri Peterson.

House of The Dragon: Episode Two Review
The second episode of House of the Dragon returns us to form with a familiar and brand new cinematic opening. While the strings play in the background, the camera pans over a replica of Old Valyria with the crests of individual Targaryens engraved onto gold plates. The blood represents new generations, with one, in particular, splitting off nine times in one shot. It sure was a nostalgic trip to hear the Game of Thrones theme song, and it was a perfect way to start off the new episode.

Recommended Age: 14+ Content Warnings: War themes, mild sex, and bodily harm. Rating: 4.2/5 stars This review will cover the entirety of the five-book series by Elise Kova. Expect some light spoilers as I will be alluding to the overall plot of the series, highlighting certain scenes, and discussing the development of certain characters.
