I'm here to practice my writing and to build a habit of getting words onto the page in a semi-regular fashion. I publish a monthly life update to keep me accountable, other than that expect a mix of fiction and journal-ly type stuff.

December is done, and so is 2025. I feel like the year ended on a bit of whimper, rather than a bang. But overall, I’ve had a pretty good year.

I have a tendency to subscribe to every newletter for every person or website I come across. I think maybe this is the one that will have that nugget of wisdom I need to miraculaously solve all the problems in my life. Most of them I end up unsubscribing from pretty quickly, they just clog up my inbox.

Pretty Solid
August has gone by really quickly. Busy at work which I think has made the days fly by. But no real setbacks anywhere, just solid, if slow progress.

A Stitchy Month
We’re properly into the second half of the year now. This month had a huge focus on the arts. I had a lot of stitching to do, I listened to a lot of audiobooks and we took a little holiday.

Halfway there
The end of this month marks halfway through the year. I know everyone says it all the time, but I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone. This whole last year has just flown by.

May has disappeared just as quickly as April did. We’re almost halfway through the year and it’s almost a year since we moved to NZ.

On track, just too fast
I don’t even know where April went. I feel like I only did a recap last week, but it’s already four days into May as I’m starting to write this (probably a few more before I finish and post it).

A little backslide
March has been an up and down month. On the plus side, that fatigue that I was dealing with last month has resolved. On the negative side, I got sick for a couple of weeks and that really set me back with my exercise goals. Though to be fair, I was already flagging on those before the sickness hit.

Knuckling down
February has been all about building that routine I talked about last month. This month I’m trying to find a balance that doesn’t leave me burned out, but still keeps me doing the things I want to do. Towards the end of Feb I started feeling really fatigued, so I don’t think I’ve quite got it right yet.
