There’s truly something eerie about flying over my city with my headphones on, staring out my small window, and pretending to talk to my father. But, every time I’m up here, I wonder if he was also afraid to fly. And if his coping mechanism was also journaling his scattered brain while literally being in flight mode, just like me.

The Police’s Reports
Since this is a performance piece, I wanted to add some context without giving a total portrayal of the performance: A new detective experiments with starting his stressful work days with a checklist of goals written in his notepad. When he succeeds, he crosses the goal off. As the days get more difficult, he begins to see a shift in what he has accomplished, and even in what his goals are starting to become. Ultimately, he begins to gradually see his own demise unfold on paper. His biggest problem is not knowing where it will come from in his life…

My Ludicrous Limericks Challenge
As the Ludicrous Limericks Challenge comes to a close, I’m happy Vocal came up with this one! My love for haikus have gone to another level, and now I think limericks will be added to my list of favorite writing styles. Many of the limericks I wrote were silly, but I also wanted to experiment with different types of humor, like dark humor and sarcasm. I think I actually got better the more I wrote. Some of my personal favorites are “Come Back Home,” “Between The Lines,” “Change For Change,” and “Potty Talk!” But, I’m biased. Just like the Time Capsule Challenge, I’ve compiled all my submissions here for everyone to read! Enjoy, and good luck to everyone looking to win this time around…
