Slumburder Party
A daughter, a cousin, a sister, a wife, a mother of five. I am loved by many and if you're reading this, you are right on time. I was born and grew up on the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, known for the breathtaking scenery and our beaches. The water here is so clear and blue, like in the opening credits of a romantic comedy movie. A small town of the Caribbean island called Kingstown, there was my entire family. My mother, father, two older brothers, myself and my best friends. The people I would do anything for. I met my amazing husband here, as I always hope I would growing up. My husband’s name is Hunter Bornsfield, a hardworking man who always went after what he wanted. We had our first two kids early on the island and we had the twins before we left. We were just starting our lives together as a family unit. Hunter and I both wanted to move to the states the first in my family to move to America. Hunters' family moved to America and lived in New York City. We decided to move to Georgia after having the twin, we needed a bigger house. We packed up our things on the island and moved to Georgia. Hunter found a beautiful large home, nothing compare to anything we ever lived in. It was the northern part of Georgia in a town called Cummings about thirty minutes from the infamous Atlanta. We loved it here. Hunter a mortgage banker and I, a stay at home mom, taking care our now four boys. As a unit, we all love sports, the Braves’ games turned into our family bonding times every year. Our lives in the states being everything we imagined. Watching my boys grow into young men and eventually Hunter and I had our youngest boy. Yes, I am the only woman in a house full of boys I loved them so deeply each one of them are my world, but sometimes a girl needs some girlfriends. My oldest son Carnell, was beginning to start high school and playing football and baseball over the summer with the second oldest, the twins, Kelly and Patrick. I travelled to every single game my boys ever played, they were talented so I loved watching them play any sport. As time passed, over the summers I grew closer to some of the other football moms and we started hanging out every game even going out to eat together as one big family, tailgating and just making sure our boys team had everything they needed. I was so grateful the school they attended was K-12. My youngest two, Brian and Dustin, could be with their older brothers. It was the beginning of the fall of 2018. I had three boys in high school now which means they were enjoying being on the same teams together. Carnell and Kelly were on the football team, they had a game today. Its Monday night football in Georgia. Their school football team has as a "football mom’s crew" there are a total of eight of us. Now to be completely honest with you, I was only close with Lacey and Tiffany they were the girlfriends I needed in my life. The other ladies, Rebecca, Jen, Marley, Celina, and Kari are the other moms whom our boys played together. I knew them well enough, never a one on one bases. Honestly they were a bit stuck up to me; I was always the easy-going-laid-back friend and so were Tiffany and Lace. We just know how to have fun safely. I am an island girl, I love to smoke marijuana and have a bottle of tequila every now and then but some of these women partake in the toughest drugs and I don't mean from out of a pharmacy. Sure, Kari keeps a bottle FULL of xanax and cocaine in her purse and it’s only for her anxiety and depression. The girl turns into a completely different person. I'll come back to that later though. For tonight’s game, the moms were going to meet at the game a little early to pass out snacks, drinks and whatever else high school boys needed and its always something believe me. It really does takes a village. I got there with Lacey and we met up with the crew standing in front of the bleaches of an empty football stadium. They were organizing the snacks and the new hoodies Jen made for the fans. It was bright and sunny, Georgia had some of the most humid dry weather, but I love the heat. It was fall time so whenever the sun set it would be very cold but right now it felt amazing. The sun shining down, right onto the football field. There was a small crowd along the side of the bleachers. Our crew of eight standing in front of a small group of moms who also arrived early and were sitting in the bleachers on the first two rows. Jen and Kari both grabbed a hoodie and held it up for display. Rebecca was talking of a portable microphone so everyone could hear. The audience of moms began to awe with excitement over the new hoodies. "Oh my goodness! Their so soft! How much are they Jenny?" One of the moms yelled out. "They're forty dollars sizes: small, extra small, and medium. The larges and extra-large are fifty dollars." Jen replied. A loud burst of talking followed by excitement filled the area of the football stands. The coaches and boys were on the field practicing for the game that started in less than two hours. "Now let me get two smalls please madam." Celina said rushing by Lacey, Tiff and I who were walked up to everyone. Celina picks up two hoodies that were laying on the benches, "I'll give you the money after the game, I didn't stop to get cash." Celina added. "Now Celina ma'am what example are you setting for the other moms?" Jen stated, "We are not taking cash for security reason therefore all payments are due at time of purchase ladies. Venmo, cash app, apple pay, or PayPal." The audience of moms, Jen and Kari all continued to chatter over the hoodies. Lacey, Tiff and I found our sits on the first row of the bleachers off to the side where the boxes of hoodies are sitting. Celina makes eye contact with us, "Ladies!! Becca is having a house party for the LSU vs ALABAMA football game and its girls only!!" Celina was always so cheerful, I couldn't tell if it was ever fake or genuine. Rebecca, who was finishing up with the snacks alongside Marley, overhears and walks over the conversation, "Ladies!!" She sings, greeting Lacey, Tiff and myself. "Now miss thing, didn't I say during halftime we were all going to talk as a group? Privately!?" Becca says in Celina’s' ear at regular volume. Celina laughs, "Well bitch, you know I can't hold water plus I haven't seen my girls since this summer." Lacey laughs, "Oh Lord, when is the party?" "Its next weekend on Sunday at my house. The boys will be gone, my hubby will be gone, hell everyone will be gone! We're going to have an all-girls slumber party!" Becca says privately so only Lacey, Tiff and I could hear. My eyes lit up immediately with interest and the thought of telling Hunter. I wasn't use to being around so many grown women at once let alone an adult slumber party? I felt nervous but so excited because these ladies were fun and entertaining to say the least. This was my first American friend group and I couldn't feel more wanted in our new community than with these ladies. I played it cool as Rebecca sat her hand on Tiffany’s' knee, she looked at me directly, "you ladies in to stay the night? It’s going to be so much fun!" she says. Tiffany smiling, "I think so, even though you guys know I have work on the weekends. Ehh well I'll still come over," Tiff says dragging. I took a deep breath before responding just so I wouldn't sound too eager, "It sounds fun I'm in after I talk with my man." I flipped my long curly brown hair with sass. Becca smiled and wrapped her arms around the three of us. "My girls! I just love you ladies." Becca says. She walks away and back over to Marley. Lacey looks at me, "I'm shocked at you Tammy. I figured you would be hesitant," Lacey says mockingly. Tiff and I giggling. "I'm genuinely excited though, I'm always around the boys it’ll be fun to get to spend the night with the girls," I said. Tiff digging through her purse that she sat in her lap, "Now you two both know how Becca and Marley are when they watch those college football games. They literally act like wild drunk men," she says looking back up at us. Lacey hiding her laugh, "Shit that is so true, wait isn't next Sunday Marley’s' birthday?" Lacey asked. I didn't know Marley, Jen, or Kari as well as I knew Lacey and Tiff. Rebecca and I were pretty cool too. I had been close with these two going on two years but Lacey and Tiffany knew the others mom for about three to four years before I came to Georgia. It goes Rebecca being the ring leader of the crew, her sidekick is Kari. Then there is Celina and Marley the two peas in a pod leaving Lacey, Tiffany and I as the three stooge members of the crew. "Damn, it is! That means we got to bring a birthday AND party gift. Great!" Tiff says sarcastically rolling her eyes. Tiff hands Lacey and I our pint size bottles of tequila. Tiffany always sneaks us in shot size bottle of liquor. The three of us take a shot before the games just too really get into the game, we're all so competitive. And it also helps us stay warm when the sun sets was my excuse. I love to drink because I could always hold my liquor no matter what. Everyone that knows me, knows this to be true. Cracking the tiny seal, Lacey says privately so only Tiff and I could hear, "Since it’s her birthday you know she's going to celebrate extra heavy." I laugh while shaking my head; remember those hard core drugs I mentioned early? Well that was the extra heavy celebration. "Yeah I'm not sleeping near her crazy ass" Tiff says. "I doubt she's really going to let all of us sleep over at her house. I mean I know their house has 10 bedrooms but Rebecca cannot sleep without her "man" yall." Lacey air quoted man because Becca had an interesting love life. She was in the middle aged, white woman in the middle of a divorce but her new boyfriend had already moved in with her and the kids. Rebecca's husband still stops by the house to be with kids even while Becca's boyfriend is there. Supposedly he really owns the house not Rebecca. I knew they did things differently here in America but damn so messy. Finding out the marijuana here is not legal nor free but I still kept some locked away at home. The girls know I smoke weed every day and only Tiffany, Kari did too. "Did you hear her say my husband?" Tiff chuckled, "Girlfriend where is the ring?" Lacey throws her head back as she takes the shot. Tiff and I follow her suit taking our shots. Whistles blowing on and off the field as the team continues to practice. "I just knew for a fact I was hearing things when she said that shit" Lacey said. "What are you guys going to bring? Can I bring my weed since Marley does cocaine?" Lacey and Tiff both laughed as I said that, so loud a few moms turned and stared at us for a minute. "T, girl hush, I cannot with you sometimes you are hilarious. You know Rebecca smokes that shit too. She just has to play like she doesn't because of her wannabe cop boyfriend, John" Lacey says. "She acts like it’s so bad like its crack or something just for him, it’s strange. She's so fake I swear," Tiff scoffs. "You bring your weed I'm bringing mine and we're gonna light that motherfucker up!" Tiffany says while waving her hand in the air. "I don’t know what I'll bring probably something to eat and drink from me." "Ok I'm bringing a bottle of expensive tequila and my stash while rocking my reindeer pjs." "Yeah good call T, I think I'm going to do the same," Tiff says laying her head on my shoulder. The shots were kicking into our system. I look up from my phone as more and more fans, students, teachers and parents arrive at the stadium. There were crowds of people everywhere, this school had one of the largest fan bases in the county of Cummings, Georgia. The popularity of the school brought the local news out to broadcast. Jen and Kari were surrounded by people in line trying to get hoodies. The sun was peeking through the clouds and slowly approaching sunset. Marley and Becca were walking across the field from taking the football team their snacks. They join Jen and Kari in selling the hoodies to get the lines down. "Should we go down and help?" Tiff asks us. We each look at each other not saying anything and collectively bust out laughing. Those shots were definitely kicking in. Life for me in Georgia was so different from when Hunter and I were on the island. People here are very subjective and entitled in this town. I wasn't sure if it was cocky American culture you would see on television but I just knew my island charm was not always going to get me by. You needed to be assertive, loud, catty, bratty, and funny as hell to hang in our group and really survive in this town. I was a solid two out of five. I think that’s why I connected with Lacey and Tiff naturally. Lacey was the one who introduced me to the group and ever since then she's always included me in every activity rather it’s with the crew or just her and I. She respected me our boys were great friends and she's always there for me and so was Tiff when she wasn't working nonstop. Hunter and I are both Dominican and Jamaican. The town we live in is predominantly white. I was the only woman of color in our crew but Tiff and Lacey made sure I never felt that way, which is why they were my bitches for life, pun intended folks. Let’s not get carried away though. A successfully "black" family in north Georgia, with beautiful and talented kids, living in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood. Yeah its 2018 but that doesn't mean shit to the racism we've experienced. My boy’s school, luckily, was a mixture of all backgrounds so they weren't subject to that at school. No sense in having another generation of people who hate each other because of the color of their skin. I always knew Hunter and I would raise the boys to treat everyone kindly no matter who or what they have done. Hunter grew up with strict parents on the island discipline and hard work was instill from birth. Yeah, our parents did not play that shit. I was always a free spirit, gentle, fun, and loving person. My family was my life, my boys were my world. I loved being a mom, taking care of the house, food, and everything else I had planned for them throughout the week. Life in the states felt so amazing I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little more. From being cooped in the house, to running errands I hardly ever sat down unless it’s at night with my hubby. He worked during the day, so when the boys were out of school and not at practice, everyone was home; the real Full House. It was the weekend of Rebecca’s party, just two nights before. We just finished dinner and Hunter sent the boys up to do homework in the quiet room. My iPhone starts to ding repeatedly back to back, it was our mom’s group chat. "Bing Bing, what do those girls want now," Hunter says as he enters the kitchen walking up behind me. He wraps his strong brown arms around my waist. I smile so hard, "I don’t know baby it’s probably about Sunday night. Rebecca and Marley have been going at it for a week straight in the chat. It’s very entertaining like reality tv." I start to laugh at my own joke as I turn around to face Hunter. We still acted like two kids in their first relationship. I love this man so much and every day it grows deeper. I grab my phone from the counter behind us and open the messages. "Yup, Marley is doing the most again. Oop look, Tiff said, "yall just make sure ain't no men there!" I am weak my girl is hilarious." Hunter laughed, "Yeah I second that! Tell Tiff I said that too," Hunter puffing his chest out. "So babe you sure you want to spend the night? Or I can come get you if you'll be too cross faded." Hunter knows it takes a lot for me to even get drunk because I can hold my liquor. A true island gal baby. I'm about 5'5 130 pounds. When I smoke a lot of weed and drink together that’s what his referring to as crossed faded where you’re a decent mixture between the two and when I get like that I only want to snuggle up with him and he knows that. Since the night of the football game when Becca first told us about the party. I came home after the game with Hunter and the boys. Hunter and I got into a disagreement about the party on rather it was going to be all girls or not and about him coming to get me. Hunter didn't know the girls from our crew except for Lacey and Tiffany. He especially didn't too much care for the dads either. He had his brother and work buddies. And the crazy thing is, all the parents love Hunter! Literally it’s hard to dislike my man. He never treats anyone how he feels about them. Everyone gravitated towards our family simply because we were the token black family to the community we have now been a part of for two years. Plus I would like to think Hunter and I give our Beyoncé and Jayz vibes, just one sexy ass couple! So I had been assuring Hunter for two weeks now that everyone’s husband was going to be away with the kids and only us girls would be at the house. I even told him I was going to FaceTime him and the boys throughout the night. He was so skeptical but always wanted to make me happy, why I love the man so much. "Honestly babe, I was just going to drive there and stay the night with the girls if that’s cool with you." Hunter kissed my forehead, "Ok baby, you deserve a solid fun night." He was right I really did, but he was making me have doubts about sleeping over. I started thinking well maybe I’ll just go over eat and watch the game then come back home. I wanted to see how it would be first before I got comfort with these ladies. I also felt I was being too up tight and just needed to loosen up and have a stress-free, fun time out of the house. I had been around Tiff and Lacey around the house all the time because our boys played in the neighborhoods together and swim in each other’s pool. I had never been around Rebecca, Jen, Marley, Celina, or Kari in a private setting like this but I dusted off my nerves. I was tripping, paranoid from this Georgia weed I guess; it wasn’t as potent as back home on the island. It always made me overthink things right before the high instead of a calm relaxing high I was use too. It was weird because I know my weed. What was the worst that could happen? I need to relax. The thoughts in my head run through all types of fun, silly, girly things we would all do each other’s makeup, have a fashion show you know things you would do as a kid with your girlfriends. Except I always had brothers so there was none of that in my childhood. Overall I was super excited to party with the crew. I called my best friend, Denise to see how she was doing and to clear my mind from myself for once. It was that Sunday afternoon, around 3pm. Hunter was in the gym downstairs and the boys were around the house or either with him. I was cooking dinner early because I had to be a Rebecca’s' house and talking on the phone with Denise. She was surprised I was taking a liking to my new friend group to join their sleepover but very happy that I was having fun with ladies around my age. I loved my best friend she was always going to be happy for me and also keep it very much real with me. I put the phone on the counter while looking for my favorite seasoning spice in the cabinet."Its on speaker girl I can hear you," "Oh! I was saying honey, if anything happens, you send me your location asap!" Denise's voice was soft, firm and raspy. She was so serious too, she would fly from whenever she was right on to Georgia if I needed her because I would absolutely do the same for her. "Dee, I got you girl. It’s no worries plus I don’t think I'm going to sleep over just show up in my PJS like it’s a slumber party ya know." "Yeah girl. How long have you all been this close T?" "Ok we remember Tiffany and Lacey? The ones I'm always talking about," I pause, "Yeah those are the only two I heard you speak of and I spoke to them before," Denise insist. "Right I've been close with them for the longest. The others I've known since the beginning of this summer Dee." Denise sigh was long as fuck, "T, do not stay over at that woman’s house you go, you have fun, shake your ass and come home mama ok? I love you girl have a great time, enjoy yourself mama you deserve it." Denise's Caribbean accent came out so heavy. "Awww Dee I love you too honey, I'll text you later, I love you girl. Bye" "Bye boo."I smoked a few joints of weed with Hunter, he still gets his from back on the island. He keeps weed like its money or something, I admire that man. We laughed and kissed thinking about our first night sleeping without each other and what neither of us knew would be the last. I reassured him I would FaceTime him and that I will not be sleeping over. I decided that at the last minute, I loved being at home with my man. I was going to stay the night and drive back early in the morning. We kissed again and I left and drove to Rebecca’s house. It was a little after 6pm, completely dark outside and Rebecca’s neighborhood was 30 minutes from ours. She lived in a gated community. Lacey called me soon as I got there. Best friend telepathy I guess. I was excited to see everyone in their PJS. As I'm getting out the car my phone is buzzing off the wall I brought a small backpack just to keep up with my keys, phone, and things like that. Celina and Rebecca are outside on the front porch smoking a cigarette. "Look who made it on over to this side of town," ReBecca said. She and Celina collectively yell, "yessssssss T is here woooo!!" I was excited and also high as a kite already from smoking with Hunter. The ladies were pumping me up as I entered the house. It was nice, you walk into the living room there is a large sectional couch and ottoman with a 65" flat screen. Rebecca had candles burning all the lights on in her house were bright! Blankets folded up neatly everywhere there was a pillow. A few more steps and we were in the kitchen. The threshold was wide so you could see a portion of the living room and front door. I walked in and they all looked at me in my PJS crazily while giving me hugs. "Awww she has on her little pajamas," Rebecca whines softly. Celina and everyone else who heard starts laughing. I flip them off and laugh "Fuck yall ok you said it was a sleep over. Where is yalls spirits?" It was weird to be the only one in pajamas even after Tiffany and Lacey told me they were wearing some. I wanted to change but it was whatever at this point. We're all standing around the kitchen laughing and talking. There’s a large marble top island in the middle of everyone with chips, drinks, cakes, food, and liquor. Tiffany, Lacey, Becca, Jen, Marley, Celina and myself standing around chatting. Kari was the only one missing. Everyone is talking collectively about different things. Lacey and I finally make eye contact and she comes over to me, with her red cup in hand, "Girl did you not get my text" she whispers. I reach for my phone, "I just got it when I pulled in the driveway, bitch ain’t no service out here for real." Marley yells, "I smell weed!" laughing just as loud as she yelled. "Its Tiffany! Girl you loud than a mothafucka, pass some my way" Marley says still laughing at herself. She clearly already a little tipsy and the loudest one in the room. Rebecca had candles and a speaker playing in the spacious kitchen, and the loud ass television playing in the next room. The LSU pregame show was on. It smelled like something good was in the oven mixed with the pumpkin spice candles. The house was loud with chatter but spacious enough everyone has room to act a fool a few feet apart from each other. "Awww Tammy why am I just now seeing your reindeer pajamas honey I'm glad you made it," Marley threw her arms around me hugging me so tight. I hugged her back when she loosened up. Oh fake laughing was something I was good at. "Ooooo Tammy smells like weed!!" Marley exclaimed while Celina and Rebecca laugh collectively. "Marley would you shut up! You're trying to have John and Rick come upstairs damn!" Celina slapped Marley's arm, "For real you're too loud let’s go into the living room." Celina continues as she walks with Marley around her arm and into the living room. "Now Rebecca said as long as it’s done outside on that high ass balcony they have and not when John is around," Celina said seriously. My eyes were fixed on the text message Lacey sent me, as the girls continued to bicker and laugh amongst each other. I was staring at my phone with so much confusion. I looked up at Lacey confusingly and she was already staring me, it was kind of creepy she pointed to the door on the other side of the kitchen. When you step into Rebecca’s' kitchen she has beautiful counters that spread all around the four kitchen walls. On the side I was standing on with Tiffany, Lacey, and Jen, the counters, the sink, and dishwasher were behind us. As you move around the room behind Rebecca is the oven then there’s open space where the backdoor is leading to the deck. Becca was standing in front of the backdoor and on the other side of her was Marley and Celina who were standing in front of more counters and the refrigerator. There was another open space and beside the fridge was a white door. It freaked me out a little bit because I never seen Lacey so serious before like what was with her? I was trying to have a good time hell I had just walked in the damn door and already my stomach was turning. I hadn't drunk any liquor so I don’t know what this feeling was coming over me I just wanted to relax and brush it off. Tiff made her way to me giving me a biggest hug. It warmed me. "You smell good," she giggled. "Now why am I the only one in REAL pajamas and not a t-shirt and pants?" I stated. Tiff laughed while staring at Lacey. She looked back at me, "I told yall I was not staying." Lacey still had this cold dead look on her face. I wanted to talk to her now but the girls were all around. "Who ain’t staying over?" Marley exclaimed looking around the kitchen. We had formed a wide circle standing around the kitchen. "Marley I told yo drunk ass this already!" Tiffany chuckled annoyingly walking over to the food on the middle island. "T there is food over here and drinks since nobody else was going to say it," Tiffany continued. There was such a weird feeling of energy in the room even in the air. I always picked up on these things that’s just who I was. Everybody seemed off to me from Lacey's attitude to Marley’s already intoxicated ass there was just so much going on I didn’t know what the fuck I wanted to do anymore. Maybe this was everyone true selves I was meeting, you know what they say liquor does to quiet people. "Thanks Tiff I'll grab some in a minute," I said. I picked up my phone and read Lacey's text again. Yup I am not that high, I read it right the first time. So Rebecca lied about having an all-girls party, her boyfriend and Jen's husband were here and downstairs in the basement. I didn't want it to ruin my night so I fixed me a plate of food when Tiff was done with hers. In the kitchen was myself, Tiffany, Lacey, Rebecca, and Jen. Lacey finally moved from the same spot she had been standing in and staring strongly at Rebecca. "Becca! What happen to an all-girls party?" Lacey asked. She was serious and the room got quiet all for the radio and the noise from the living room. I really can't remember the last time I seen her this serious. Probably at an AAU game those games get personal. Jen who had been quiet until now, pouring herself a shot. I had brought a bottle as well but it wasn’t opened yet. "Lace why are you still talking about that? The men are downstairs for Christ sakes! They have everything they need to stay down there. They gave their word they would not bother us one bit." Jen stated and chased her shot with a soda. "Yeah and how many times do men keep their words when food is around?" Lacey snared. She walked over to another bottle of liquor on the counter and started to pour then paused. "Lace honey you know our men you're acting like they're strangers," Rebecca scoffed. "Its just the principle Bec, you said ladies only. Plus John has never met Tammy, its a little off putting don't you think?" Tiff says while getting back to the pasta on her plate. I was fucking my plate up too listening to the tennis match of a conversation. Loud laughter fills the living room and slips through the kitchen. "I didn't think Tammy was spending the night and like Jen said they ain't coming up here no time." Rebecca said while wiping off the counters with a paper towel. Whoever made this pasta this shit was amazing, or maybe I was just high and hungry. I zoned out from the conversation to text my hubby that I made it safely and we're just standing around eating. Jen walks over to the stove, and opens it. "Yall I got bbq ribs in here." Everybody looks at Jen, "Oh yeah those men smell this they'll be up here to stay alright." Everyone laughs. "I think everyone needs to take a shot, except Marley she's had enough." Rebecca cheerfully grabs mini shot glasses for each of us. As Lacey is taking the ribs out of the oven the white door cracks open. Rebecca is pouring the shots. I'm finishing my plate watching Jen walk over to the top of the stairs, standing in-between the open talking to whoever was at the top of the stairs. Tiffany is standing next to me with her arms folded watching Jen still talking to whoever was at the bottom of the stairs. "That’s John, tell him ill bring him a plate honey," Rebecca rolling her eyes. "That man can smell food from up the street I swear." Jen walks back over to the large kitchen island. We collectively cheers and take our shots. The first of many that night. We all move to Rebecca’s living room each of us taking our spot on the couch. I was snuggled up on the couch next to Tiff. "Kari is outside!" Marley yells and jumps up repeatedly like a little kid. Her big ass shook the whole living room. Tiffany and I couldn't help but laugh. Marley, Celina, and Jen leave the living room to go and help Kari inside with front door. Kari greeted everyone in song and to my surprise she was wearing pajamas. I did make me feel a little better, when she entered she didn't comment on everyone’s basic street wear attire but she looked at me on the couch and winked. Kari, Marley, Celina, and Jen all went into the kitchen. Rebecca, Lacey. Tiffany, and myself were pretty glue to the television. The game had just came on and everyone was an LSU fan except from Marley and Kari. I didn't really have a team unless it was Georgia playing then I always rooted for them. The ladies from in the kitchen returned to the living after the game was underway. Kari brought only me a plate of her rotel cheese dip and letting everyone know they need to try it. She, Marley and Celina had a plate in hand to sit down and eat. Tiffany asks, “Well why does only Tammy get a plate made?" Kari laughed, “Because her and I are the only ones who wore pajamas to a sleepover!" In that moment, Marley laughed so loud you could barely hear the tv. Celina shook her head, "Yeah great sports these two, setting a fine party example." Tiffany look at my plate and back at the girls in confusion like there was something more. I didn't think much of it obviously because I began to eat the chips and cheese dip right up. It was a little after 10:30pm and the halftime show was on, we were all chatting, laughing, and making snapchat videos dancing. I felt was sleepy but I figured it was the weed, I smoked with Tiffany and Marley on the deck just before Jen suggest we all take a group photo. She called John on her phone to come upstairs and take the photo, he agreed. John and Benny came into the living room cheering about the game so far and hugging Rebecca by the shoulders. We're all sitting on the couch as John snaps the photo of us on Rebecca's phone. "Let’s play crime against humanity!" Jen exclaimed while rubbing on her husband who was not laying on the couch next to her. John made his way to the bookshelf to grab the cards. He sat them on the ottoman and sat next to Rebecca. So the card game and shots commenced; I would say maybe 20 minutes into the card game everyone was pretty much past tipsy, constant laughing and bickering. Everyone was having a good time for the most part. I just couldn't get over how sleepy I was feeling; I mean I normally don't go to bed until midnight at home sometimes later every night so I wasn't sure why I was so sleepy. The room, the noise, the laughter all blurred with my vision as I starred at the TV. Rebecca hopped up to turn the room light off so the row of candles and lamps she had could light the room with the TV. The men were still around and watching the end of the game with everyone. I tapped Tiffany letting her know I was about to stand up. She walked with me to the kitchen and we went out onto the large high rise deck. There was a table with an ashtray and six chairs. We sat down and looked out into the night sky. It seem like since Rebecca’s house was on a high the deck was high enough we could see barely through the tips of the pine trees. "Look! Is that an owl or a bat on the tree?" Tiffany asked I was trying to focus my eyes but all I could see where the trees and a blurry moon. Tiffany continues, "Aww it’s a barn owl! Look at its head and wings. I never knew they were so pretty" "Girl I wish I could see that far my vision is so blurry right now. Tiffany my head is killing me you got anything?'' "Yeah girl let me get my bag" Tiffany returns with a bottle of water and some Motrin. I thank her and sit back into the chair and try to relax. "Are you okay?" Tiffany asks, "Yeah girl I'm fine just sleepy and light headed i don't know why. I just need some fresh air." "Ok girl call me if you need me I'm going back inside to catch the end of this game." I did not know what was about to happen next Tiffany would not be there to call onto. I rested outside on the deck from almost half an hour. I wasn't sure what time it was so I felt for my phone in my pocket. It was a little after midnight and I was so ready to go home and sleep this whole thing off. I never felt this sleepy and sick before and out of nowhere to it was unusual. Most everyone stayed in the house except for Tiffany who left right after the game ended. Everyone went into their rooms to go to sleep. I was feeling a little better so I decided to go into the kitchen. John was in the kitchen washing the dishes at the sink. Soon as I closed the door he turns and looks at me. "Hey, everyone went to sleep?" I asked softly. He stops what his doing and starts to dry his hands. "Yeah, were you smoking weed on the deck?" "Oh no," I sigh, "I am all smoked out I went light headed and really needed fresh air for the moment ya know?" "Yeah, I feel you, your name is Tammy right, that’s beautiful name." I smile warmly, "Aww thank you, this is a beautiful home you guys have." During the conversation, he motioned for us to go back outside onto the deck. I wanted to charge my phone in the living room but I was starting to feel weak again and needed to sit down so I agree. He opened the back door as I walk through the door I feel a cold wet hand then arm slide over my shoulders. John grabbed my shoulder with one hand and the other around my waist as if we were about to dance. The door closed behind us and my body just went completely limp. He thrusted his penis into my butt over and over. I could feel what was going on but no words could come out. I stuttered quietly, "Wh-wha-what are you doing?" My weight was leaning on his body as we moved over to the ledge of the balcony. It was so cold outside now, all I had on was my pajamas. He grabbed my breast and massaged them still holding me tightly with one arm. I was facing out towards the moon and the trees the same place Tiffany said she saw the owl. I still couldn't see it. My waist and stomach now pressed up onto the railing on the balcony John still behind me grinding his pelvis on my butt. I swung my arm back and elbowed him in the eye. "You are crazy as fuck what’s your problem?" I said loudly hoping someone would hear me. "You just assaulted a cop lil’ girl, are YOU crazy bitch?" He said looking me in the eyes, "This is my neck of the woods. I can do whatever I want to you in my house and nobody will ever know you understand that?" He asked this while grabbing me harder and pulling me back into his arms. He put his hand over my mouth and tried to make my body bend over as hard as he could. I remember fighting but he punched me so hard in my side. He was choking and suffocating me now at this point I went completely limp. I didn't say a word, all I could hear was that stupid barn owl making noise like he was trying to stop John and me. I wish that it could have. I felt my breathe getting shorter and shorter as his grip got stronger. I felt like I was his shake weight in the palm his gripping hand. I felt the last breathe I had exit my body. John was so strong he didn't even realize I was unconscious until he was done. He panicked and flipped my body over the balcony. The deck was 17 feet from the ledge of the deck. I hit the ground head first on manicured stones and grass. It was so cold, I just wanted to be able to move my body but I was powerless. The owls' constant hooting and the cold grass with my face now buried in, my last known thoughts.
