what is art?

is this art?

what is art?

why do we consider some things as art and others not as such.

what is life?

art is pain and joy transformed into beauty.

sometimes art is a mixture of pain and joy, sometimes it’s just one or the other, but it’s always transformed into a beautiful thing. something that inspires, attracts, and evokes a feeling of wonder and amazement.

and really, it’s not so much transformed into beauty as it is beauty extracted from the pain and joy and organized into a visual or audio form.

why is art important?

why do we create art?

i think we look at art as an aspirational thing, but really we are all a piece of art, walking and living within another work of art (earth).

so it’s important because it is what we are. we create it because our spirit knows what we are and what we are meant to do. without distractions of money or career or whatever else.

the ones who do create art consciously, truly understand what we as humans are meant to do. we are meant to continue the path of artistic creativity, as we are creations creating.

some people do art in the form of architecture or other civil things.

but why is some art good and some not so much?

why are some people ugly?

well maybe they’re not. maybe all art is good but we just don’t like some of it for some reason. do animals have ugly and attractive ones or is it just us?

they probably do.

i think there is beauty in all art, including all creatures of earth and elsewhere. you just have to look deeper. see the creativity of the artist. see the abnormalities as the artist practicing new techniques and methods and styles in their art.

i’ll admit, especially with music, sometimes the art just isn’t pleasing or enjoyable to consume or absorb. but maybe then it’s just not meant for you to love it. maybe not all art is meant to be loved. definitely not all art is loved by everyone.

but we can choose to love all, if we wish.

most importantly see the variations of humans as just that - variations of one thing. the same thing just shown different ways. the experimentation and exploration of an art form by an artist.

p.s.

everyone can create art. it takes practice but mostly everyone does have the ability to practice and get good at creating art.

and maybe we all should just create art.

i don’t know, maybe we wouldn’t have much of a society or civilization if we all just created art all day, but it would be cool if we all had given space and time within our busy lives to just create art and explore creativity.

it would be nice to have a deeper focus in mainstream education on the art of creativity, and just on the practice of creating things.

it’s really like creating art is seen as an invalid or unacceptable career choice by most people, when in reality it’s just as valid as any other career choice. and honestly, today with the internet, there’s a lot of opportunity for anyone to become an artist and make a decent living doing it.

obviously it will take work and practice to become successful, just like anything else. but it is doable if you give it energy and time.

so to sum it all up, art is important and art is the beauty that resides in all the things that we know. so make art, see what you come up with.
