A series of mysterious letters begin to disappear from a renowned writer’s collection.
Elena Dawson was one of the most celebrated mystery writers of her time. Her novels, filled with intricate puzzles and shocking twists, had earned her a devoted following. But in the last few weeks, something strange had begun to happen.
Letters—old correspondence, drafts of unfinished stories, and even personal notes—were vanishing from her private study. At first, she thought it was a mistake. Perhaps she had misplaced them. But when one of her most prized possessions, an unpublished manuscript, disappeared without a trace, she knew something was terribly wrong.
She lived alone in her countryside estate, with only a few trusted staff members. The doors were always locked, and there was no sign of forced entry. Yet, the letters kept vanishing, as if someone—or something—was taking them.
The deeper the investigation goes, the more disturbing the truth becomes.
Determined to solve the mystery, Elena installed hidden cameras in her study. For days, nothing happened. Then, one night, she heard the faint rustling of papers. Rushing to her study, she found the room exactly as she had left it—except for one thing. A single sheet of paper lay on her desk, one she had never written:
"You took my story. Now, I take yours."
A chill ran down her spine. The handwriting was eerily familiar, almost identical to her own. But she knew she hadn’t written it.
Elena decided to dig into her past, trying to remember if she had ever encountered something similar. That’s when she recalled an old acquaintance—Arthur Langley, a struggling writer she had once known. Decades ago, he had accused her of stealing his story idea and publishing it as her own. She had dismissed it as jealousy, but soon after, he had disappeared without a trace.
What seems like a simple case of theft turns into a chilling game of deception.
The next morning, Elena received a package. Inside was one of her missing letters—burned at the edges, the words smudged as if someone had been crying over them. Attached was another note:
"You erased me. Now, I erase you."
Terrified, Elena searched for information on Arthur Langley. What she found made her blood run cold. He had died twenty years ago. His body had been discovered in an abandoned house, surrounded by unfinished manuscripts. His final story had remained incomplete.
But then how was he taking her letters?
Some secrets are meant to stay buried, but this one refuses to be forgotten.
That night, Elena couldn’t sleep. The air in her house felt heavy, suffocating. She woke to the sound of pages rustling, as if someone was flipping through a book. She turned on the light—her study door was wide open.
Stepping inside, she gasped. Every single missing letter was scattered across her desk, along with one final message, written in bold ink:
"Finish my story, or yours will never be told again."
The room grew colder, the shadows shifting unnaturally. A whisper filled the air—Arthur’s voice, echoing from beyond. She had stolen his words, and now, he had returned to take hers.
Elena picked up a pen, her hands trembling. If she wanted to survive, she had no choice.
She had to write.
