Once upon a time, in a creaky old house, lived Mrs. Marge, a feisty 80-year-old with a sharp tongue and a sharper broom. Her arch-nemesis? A cheeky mouse named Squeaky, who had a knack for stealing her precious cheese.
One stormy night, Marge set a trap with her finest cheddar. "Gotcha this time, you little thief!" she cackled, eyeing the trap from her rocking chair. Squeaky, however, was no ordinary mouse. He tiptoed out, sniffed the cheese, and—poof!—knocked the trap over with a tiny stick, snatching the prize.
Marge gasped, clutching her heart. "You furry fiend! That was my last slice!" She chased Squeaky with her broom, but the mouse darted into a hole, leaving only a mocking squeak. Furious, Marge devised a plan. She baked a decoy cheese pie, laced with sleepy herbs, and left it out.
Squeaky, unable to resist, gobbled it up. Soon, he was snoozing atop the pie. Marge scooped him into a jar, triumphant. "Who's laughing now?" she crowed. But as she peered at the tiny snoring mouse, she softened. "You’re a pest, but you’ve got guts."
