Story:

The rain led Oliver to an old antique store he had never seen before.

Oliver had always loved the charm of antique shops, but this one was different. The dimly lit store sat at the very end of an alley he had never noticed before. As rain poured down, he stepped inside, shaking off the cold. The air smelled of old paper and varnished wood, and shelves were filled with forgotten treasures from another time.

An old man behind the counter barely acknowledged his presence, as if he had been expecting him. Oliver wandered through the aisles until something made him stop—a large, dust-covered painting leaning against the wall.

A mysterious painting of a girl with sorrowful eyes captivated him.

The painting was breathtaking, yet unsettling. It depicted a young girl in a flowing blue dress standing in a dark forest. Her expression was haunting, her sorrowful eyes filled with something almost… real.

Oliver felt an unexplainable connection to the painting. “Who painted this?” he asked the shopkeeper.

“No one knows,” the man replied with a strange smile. “But they say those who take it home never look at the world the same way again.”

Ignoring the eerie warning, Oliver purchased the painting and carried it home, unaware of the mystery he had just brought into his life.

Strange occurrences began the night Oliver brought the painting home.

That night, as Oliver sat in his studio, he glanced at the painting again. Something felt off. Had the girl’s gaze shifted slightly? He shook his head, blaming his imagination.

But as the night deepened, strange things happened. The air grew colder. A faint whisper echoed through the room. At exactly midnight, Oliver awoke to the sound of soft tapping. His heart pounded as he turned toward the painting.

The girl’s hand—it was now pressed against the inside of the canvas.

Oliver discovered a chilling secret hidden beneath the layers of paint.

Terrified yet intrigued, Oliver grabbed a small knife and scraped at the corner of the painting. Layers of paint peeled away, revealing another image beneath. His breath caught in his throat.

Underneath the girl’s sorrowful figure was another face—a man’s face, twisted in agony, as if screaming for help.

A sudden gust of wind swept through the room, knocking over his supplies. A whisper filled the air, louder this time. “You must finish what he started.”

Oliver realized the truth—the artist had been trapped within his own work, just like the girl. And now, the painting had chosen him to set them free.

With trembling hands, he picked up his brush. The only way out was to complete the masterpiece… before it consumed him too.
