Father? . Content Warning.
I woke up in a dark room. It was a different dark room from the one I’d been in the night before, this one smelled of musk. The last ones foetor was of a clogged toilet. I had no idea who moved me, or when. The denizens of this abode were horrible. They chained me up and beat me. I didn’t want to be in this new room either, I did not know what eldritch horrors awaited.

She Dreamed of Santorini
Since childhood, Irene Dyck dreamed of seeing Santorini, Greece. She said she saw this scene on a calendar at a DQ when she was little and just absolutely loved it. It was no surprise that when she launched her career in art, this would be her signature piece.

Kahlo's Passion; The Art of Pain
Decades apart, lands away, your determination met my grimaced smile with a tear so heavy I felt it bruise my shoulder. The agony of chronic pain held us separate from the world, buried alive in a place only those with eyes of amber can understand. Your skin so warm, mine so pale lift our brushes in rebellion. Entangled hearts yearn like a lost lover to be found.

THE ARTFUL PATH
I am Pratim Paramanik. I am a resident of Purulia. A news came to my attention a few days ago. The news is that a 12-year-old girl stabbed and killed a 55-year-old man by hitting him on the head and was sent to a child home. After reading the news, I was worried for a while. But later it got out of my head and later I became normal.

The Penitent Magdalene. Runner-Up in Painted Prose Challenge.
A young woman sits next to a decorative mirror. A candle's flame reaches up towards her face, casting a strong light upon her fragile body. This light, in turn, creates ill-omened shadows across the room: its deafening presence almost engulfs her body entirely. She sits in an oppressive silence, her long brown hair cascading down her furrowed white shirt. Her folded hands are tightened on the gleaming skull resting peacefully on her lap. Its eyes are wide open as it stares straight ahead without a drop of life to be seen.

The impact of social media on a painter's canvas
In the present year of 2023, the impact of social media on artists, including painters, has become an undeniable force that both shapes and challenges their creative journeys. The picture of Elizabeth Moody
“Beautiful isn’t it?” I barely heard the voice, as I stood in the Dulwich Picture Gallery, my gaze lifted to the canvas, enthralled by the image of a young woman in a landscape with two small children, all three adorned with lavish flowing fabrics. It wasn’t the sumptuous costumes that captivated my attention, so much as the expression on the lady’s face, which wore an enigmatic smile as the wearer gazed into the distance. The complexion of the subject had been applied with a liberal use of China white, giving the face an almost ghostly appearance.”

The Garden of Earthly Delights. Content Warning.
For years I've been obsessed with this painting. As a teen, it frightened, yet drew me to itself. In my twenties, I lived it. During my church years, I was revolted by it. Now, as I reach the end of my life I am simply fascinated by it.
