I made an emergency Aliyah together with my mom in the spring of 2022. We had never been to Israel before and knew very little about our Jewish heritage. We got our papers, spun the globe of Israel, and chose a spot - it was Haifa. We rented an Airbnb downtown and started to explore and search for an apartment in our new hometown.

This is one of those writings that sat in my drafts bin. At the time, it was the upcoming week to Thanksgiving. I noticed many were expressing gratitude for challenges. I have a chest full, that every time someone says “write down what you’re thankful for” I couldn’t do so without writing a book. So, I wrote my story of sickness I encountered in 2022 that lead to severe depression, which lead to residual trauma, and the restoration of it all.
