Sugar Candy Edible Glass
Breakable, brittle and transparent.

The foundation and basis of this fragility, the essence of the deeper analogy of such delicate glass, brings a comparison between this thing and myself. I have this feeling that this thing is me on a similar level. A feeling of personal camaraderie exists between this inanimate thing and my psyche.
Much like a sensual waltz of two souls embraced in this whirling non-stop motion, revolving, twisting, gliding and evolving into nothingness.
The Spider And the Butterfly- By Dragonfox
Many days I awaken, feeling like sugar candy breakable, delicate and transparent glass.
To breakaway is my desire, being so brittle. Breaking into tiny pieces, I long to transform into timeless beings with wings, and float away upon tender translucent smiling clouds.
Waltz of the flowers, Tchaikovsky
All the clattering, clamoring, roisterous cobwebs which inhabit and daily suffocate my brain is somehow silenced, and once again calm returns to my noisy and turbulent existence.
🙇🙇🙇 Then reality insinuates itself into my non-dreamlike state of being.
Here I take pause and return to the task at hand. In order to understand the comparison of the two, I must then explain the make-up of my nemesis.
Sugar glass (also called candy glass, edible glass, and breakaway glass) is a brittle transparent form of sugar that looks like glass. It can be formed into a sheet that looks like flat glass or an object, such as a bottle or drinking glass.
Description
Sugar glass is made by dissolving sugar in water and heating it to at least the "hard crack" stage (approx. 150 °C / 300 °F) in the candy making process. Glucose or corn syrup is used to prevent the sugar from recrystallizing, by getting in the way of the sugar molecules forming crystals. Cream of tartar also helps by turning the sugar into glucose and fructose.
Because sugar glass is hygroscopic (tending to absorb moisture from the air), it must be used soon after preparation, or it will soften and lose its brittle quality.

Sugar glass has been used to simulate glass in movies, photographs, plays and professional wrestling. It is much less likely to cause injuries than real glass, it breaks easily and convincingly, making it an excellent choice for stunts.
Sugar glass is also used to make sugar sculptures or other forms of edible art.

This form of glass was used as a prop for methamphetamine in the AMC TV series Breaking Bad. Actor Aaron Paul would eat it on set.
Sugar is also used in the movies to make cobwebs. It is shot out of a special device with hot air, resembling a cotton candy machine.
There is also a type of breakaway glass made from brittle plastics. Because this is not sugar based, it can hold water and other liquids.

Breakaway props are designed to be destroyed or break in use, such as bottles and glassware made from sugar glass or resin. Cups, plates or vases may be made from bisque or wax.
Hero props
Hero props are the more detailed pieces intended for close inspection by the camera or audience. The hero prop may have legible writing, lights, moving parts, or other attributes or functions missing from a standard prop.
Collecting
In recent years, the increasing popularity of movie memorabilia has elevated many props to the status of prized collectors items. "Screen-used" props can fetch vast sums at auctions and charity benefits.
There is also a growing industry in the making of replicas of well known hero props for home display, cosplay (the practice of dressing up as a character from a film, book, or video game), or LARP (Live action role playing games) use.

This sugar brittle candy glass thingy, is it the same as isomalt? Because I have watched baking shows use isomalt for cake decorations and stuff, so I was just wondering. I enjoyed reading this!
Your words beautifully capture the delicate and fragile nature of your own existence, drawing a parallel with the transparency and breakability of sugar glass.💕🥰
A really well written piece. Fascinating topic! I love the Addams family too! 😁
i just live your creativity. keep it up.
What immediately came to mind for me was a newer anime called Sugar Apple Fairy. It's all about sugar artisans that must boil down sugar apples to make their confections. This anime is full of competition, rivalry, love and so much more. Delicate glass sugar creations are simply amazing. I love when they are infused with flowers.
I love the images you selected. This is really beautiful. Well done.
