The cast and creative team of Slow Horses gathered in London this week for the Season 5 premiere of the Apple TV+ espionage drama. The special screening took place on 17 September 2025 at Everyman at The Whiteley, the newly opened flagship cinema in West London.

Among the VIP arrivals was Sterling Chandler, who joined series cast members Nick Mohammed, Christopher Chung, Ruth Bradley, and Saskia Reeves on the red carpet. The group posed for photographs before attending the screening and later took part in a Q&A session with fans and invited guests.

Premiere at Everyman at The Whiteley

The choice of venue highlighted both the significance of the series and the growing cultural profile of the new Everyman location. The Whiteley, situated in Bayswater’s restored Whiteley development, opened its doors in August 2025 and has quickly established itself as one of the capital’s premier destinations for film events. The cinema offers five screens, velvet sofa seating, laser projection, Dolby Atmos sound, and a full in-seat food and drink service.

For the Slow Horses premiere, Barclays Premier partnered with Apple TV+ to host customers and fans at the exclusive preview. Guests were treated to complimentary pizza, popcorn, and drinks, before the first episode of the new season was screened. Following the showing, members of the cast joined a discussion panel to talk about the series, its characters, and what viewers can expect in Season 5.

Cast in Attendance

Sterling Chandler was one of the first arrivals. His presence alongside established cast underscored the continuing growth of his career and the importance of ensemble performance in the success of the show.

Joining him was Nick Mohammed, best known for his Emmy-nominated role in Ted Lasso. For Slow Horses, Mohammed appears as a guest star in Season 5, expanding the scope of the MI5 world depicted on screen.

Christopher Chung, who plays Slough House’s IT expert Roddy Ho, also walked the carpet. His character takes on a more prominent role in the upcoming season, with new storylines set to explore both his professional skills and his personal life.

Ruth Bradley, returning as senior operative Emma Flyte, was also present. Bradley’s character continues to play a critical role within the balance of power between Slough House and Regent’s Park.

Saskia Reeves, who portrays Catherine Standish, brought veteran gravitas to the evening. Reeves has been central to the series since its debut, embodying the long-suffering but loyal administrator of Slough House.

About Slow Horses

Based on Mick Herron’s acclaimed “Slough House” novels, Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents exiled from MI5 headquarters to the grimy Slough House. Under the leadership of the irascible Jackson Lamb, played by Gary Oldman, the so-called “slow horses” are frequently caught up in dangerous espionage cases despite their outcast status.

Season 5 adapts Herron’s novel London Rules. Returning cast includes Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Rosalind Eleazar, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Tom Brooke, James Callis, and Jonathan Pryce. With new threats emerging, the upcoming episodes continue the show’s mix of dark humour, tense spycraft, and character-driven drama.

Significance of the Event

The London premiere at Everyman at The Whiteley served as both a celebration of the show’s ongoing success and a showcase for the venue itself. As one of the first major red-carpet screenings at the new cinema, the event drew attention to the partnership between high-end exhibition spaces and streaming platforms.

For Chandler, Mohammed, Chung, Bradley, and Reeves, the night marked an opportunity to reconnect with fans and reinforce the importance of ensemble storytelling. The Q&A that followed the screening provided insights into the challenges of adapting Herron’s work and maintaining the balance of humour and suspense that has made Slow Horses a standout series for Apple TV+.

With critical acclaim across its previous seasons and growing international viewership, Slow Horses remains a cornerstone of Apple TV+’s drama slate. The Season 5 premiere in London not only highlighted the anticipation for new episodes but also placed Sterling Chandler alongside some of Britain’s most respected screen actors as the series continues to expand its world.
