Spotify is bringing a way for parents to manage their kid music streaming
Helping parents guide their Children music choices on Spotify
Spotify has introduced an in-app parental controls for listeners under 13 on family plans. The feature, called "managed accounts," will initially be piloted in Denmark, New Zealand, and Sweden.
The new controls allow parents to restrict access to explicit content, including videos, music, and Canvas videos - the looping visuals that accompany music playback.
Additionally, parents can make granular decisions about which artists or tracks their children can access.
The feature aims to provide a middle ground between unrestricted access and the more limited Spotify Kids app. It also addresses the issue of mixed recommendations on shared accounts by giving each family member their own profile with personalised content suggestions.
Parents can enable the feature from the Accounts page in the Spotify app by selecting "Add a listener aged under 13" and following the setup instructions.

Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth are more than five times more likely to screen positive for suicide risk compared to cisgender females, who tend to screen positive at higher rates than cisgender males, according to a study from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago published in the journal Academic Pediatrics.
