Paul DeLeeuw's educational journey began at Cheshire Academy, followed by Trinity College, Hartford, where he also dabbled in electronics. Later, he worked in his family's hardware store but felt uncertain about his career. Initially drawn to defence services, his mother's influence steered him towards medicine, leading him to the Medical School of Guadalajara, only to discover it wasn't the right fit. Ultimately, he earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed an internship at Long Island Jewish Hospital before becoming a Resident Doctor at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
