OUCH!Lantz.sucker.
a duo, plus one (acrylics on 8×8 canvas) (some treats are tricky)
about this little triad.. serendipitous, cathartic, and necessary.

a duo, plus one?

a trilogy, maybe.

perhaps, a predictable triangle?

or just a trap?

i find these odd companions, indeed.
one, whose world is on fire, going from sweet and sticky to singed and gooey molten, and just a little more than he signed up for..

a second, who hides who he is behind a dark, thin film, but everybody knows it's what's inside that counts, and there is no hiding it.

and finally, a third, who got everything he asked for even if he didn't really want it. he started off chasing the lollipop, but he was just the sucker, after all.

when the truth cuts you to your bone, you tell me who you would rather be.
**********************************************************************
this was a brief visual and written journey through my experiences with betrayal and disappointment in the loss of a fantasy. but beyond that loss, there comes with a newfound self-esteem, confidence, and awareness; a whole new trust and understanding for myself; knowing of when to walk away.
one portrays the feeling when it all struck me.
next, the toxicity of the third party,
and appropriately last, the ex who wanted it all.

Exceptional writing! Your view of things is sharply perceptive in a manner that has layers and depth beyond the ordinary.
I appreciate how the triad is structured to guide the reader through shock, concealment, and reluctant acceptance. The progression from loss to self-awareness feels both organic and cathartic.
Beautiful!
