~Chaos-Crows Offical Artwork, by S.N. Evans

I am S.N. Evans; you know me here on Vocal as a writer and prospective author, but I am a woman of many hats and interests. I want to talk to you about art. More accurately, my best friend EJ and I created the art as the two crows of Chaos-Crows, a Redbubble shop we started this fall.

Our name, Chaos-Crows, comes from our joke that we are just two crows in a trenchcoat pretending to be human. We also took on a couple of fun personas for posting on Redbubble. We are:

SE Art: Scion of Disarray is a unique blend of puns and caffeine abstracted upon digital canvas, probably a polymorphed dragon.

EJ Art: Emissary of Misrule is a mixed bag of shimmering baubles and various mediums, most likely some form of fey.

We have almost 70 unique designs, varying from photographs of EJ’s TicTok characters to prints of my physical and digital art designs. While we initially started doing art together just for fun, as we created designs for competitions like Inktober, we realized that more than a few of them might make for cute or amusing stickers.

Some examples of our designs.

Our designs were also a way to keep our sanity; EJ and I are chronic illness sufferers and often find ourselves at home alone. Suddenly, competing and collaborating on designs, we got out of the house once or twice a week to generate ideas. We also want to find a way to help support our families financially. Neither of us has had luck trying to sell our designs alone, so it seemed only natural to put our heads together for this one.

With little money for a start-up, we first thought of sites like Etsy that we could accumulate inventory and sell on, but we realized that we needed more funds to launch on Etsy like we would have wanted. So, we started examining alternate sources that could host our art.

Here are some more examples of our designs.

EJ brought up the idea of finding somewhere to do print-on-demand so we would not have to keep physical stock. I had done business with Redbubble before on the buying end. I had previously bought stickers and posters for our Dungeons and Dragons crew. This dropped us down a rabbit hole and straight into wonderland.

We can create and post as many designs as we want, and Redbubble would only begin taking a commission from our sales after we reach a sales cap. All we have to do is keep churning out designs and promoting them in whatever ways we can. This article is one such promotion avenue. Another one is through social media like Facebook, TicToc, and Instagram.

We meet once or twice a week to cultivate ideas and match what I like to call “gremlin energy.” We are hyper-fixated on this project, and it shows no signs of stopping. We release 2-5 designs a week.

Some other examples, for your viewing pleasure.

This week’s new designs include:

A Book Dragon having a cookie, a leaf guardian fae, floral pastel flowers, hippocampus creatures, and a jackalope of all trades from EJ. She loves fae and mythological creatures.

A deyeball bat, kawaii monster, pastel Mandela, fennex, snoosma, and nargacuga from me. It's mostly a list of made-up creatures and monsters of my creation and design.

Suppose you like things that are a bit quirky, a bit weird, and strange. Our shop is the place for you. Please visit and see what we have to offer! You won’t be disappointed. We are having a lot of fun being chaotic creatives. If you like our designs, please don't hesitate to let us know. Please like and share them with your friends and family.

From the two chaotic crows of Chaos-Crows, thank you, and God bless!
