NOT THERE YET
This is me, mired somewhere between hope and despair
having not the stamina to carry on, but too much belief not to try
Sixty seconds in a minute, each one dropping off a memory...
This is me, mired somewhere between hope and despair
***************************************************************
Having not the stamina to carry on, but too much belief not to try
an empty, hollow space is evident and a question mark lingers
what could possibly fill the boundless hole left in my heart?
Having not the stamina to carry on, but too much belief not to try
****************************************************************
An empty, hollow space is evident and a question mark lingers
a strange and different kind of love will abide within my being
one that reminds, his love is not gone and it will be glued to that place
An empty, hollow space is evident and a question mark lingers
******************************************************************
A strange and different kind of love will abide within my being
I haven't lost him at all, really and truly, have I?
Only lost are new memories I will never be able to make again (here)
A strange and different kind of love will abide within my being
*******************************************************************
I haven't lost him at all, really and truly, have I?
He lives within me in those spaces still and he strengthens me
His love lights up my being and gives me hope
I haven't lost him at all, really and truly, have I?
********************************************************************
This is me, mired somewhere between hope and despair
having not the stamina to carry on, but too much belief not to try
Sixty seconds in a minute, each one dropping off a memory...
This is me, mired somewhere between hope and despair
*******************************************************************
(I am working on getting to that place...but I'm not there...yet)

Wonderful words, and only just found this
"having not the stamina to carry on, but too much belief not to try" This line was soooo freaking powerful and it being repeated throughout only amplified it further. Loved your poem!
I like the repetition. It amplifies the weight of grief while still letting threads of hope shine through. Sending hugs!
Beautifully-written & expressed ; sending you a gigantic hug of comfort my friend! 🫶🏾
