Marker.ae: The Comic Book Style of Business Storytelling in the UAE

We’ve been asked countless times: “So, you just draw in meetings?” And our answer is always the same: Not exactly.

What we do at Marker.ae is closer to storytelling. Yes, we use markers and tablets, but the real work lies in how we capture the spirit of the conversation. Through humor, metaphor, and a comic book-inspired style, we translate abstract ideas into visuals that people actually want to look at and that they’ll remember.

This matters especially here in the UAE. In Dubai or Abu Dhabi, it’s common to see a workshop room filled with people from different cultures and industries. Communication can be complex. That’s where visuals become a shared language. By blending Western storytelling techniques with GCC cultural elements, we create narratives that resonate with everyone in the room.

The impact is tangible. We’ve seen groups discover new ideas during the session simply because they saw their thoughts drawn out. We’ve watched serious business discussions turn into moments of laughter because of a clever metaphor or playful illustration. And we’ve seen how these visuals continue to spark conversation long after the event is over.

Graphic recording isn’t about “art for art’s sake.” It’s about helping people connect, reflect, and move forward. And if it happens to look like a comic book along the way? Even better.
