Marina Bay's i Light S'pore makes a comeback, extending its presence until June 25, 2023

The popular event, i Light Singapore, has returned to the Marina Bay district once more and will be running until June 25, 2023.

Under the theme of "A New Wave," this year's sustainable light festival will expand its reach to two additional locations, namely South Beach and Millenia Walk.

One of the featured installations is "Glacier Dreams."

Located at Marina Bay Sands, Glacier Dreams is an impressive projection showcased on the façade of the ArtScience Museum.

This artwork utilizes artificial intelligence to convert visual data on glaciers into immersive narratives, serving as a powerful medium to educate and bring attention to the effects of rising sea levels and climate change.

"Trumpet Flowers" blooms as a captivating installation.

Nestled within Clifford Square, the enchanting exhibit known as "Trumpet Flowers" showcases an array of flower sculptures that range from 2 meters to 6 meters in height. This interactive artwork invites visitors to create a personalized sound and light spectacle, drawing inspiration from their own emotions.

"Block Party" presents an exciting celebration of community and entertainment.

The interactive installation called "Block Party" brings about a delightful transformation as gardens spontaneously blossom over the facades of well-known public housing blocks.

"Lightwave: Turning the Tide" illuminates the festival with its captivating presence.

Introducing a brand new immersive light experience at The Promontory, where visitors are transported on a captivating journey into a future where rising sea levels have submerged humanity, plunging them into an enchanting underwater realm.

Crafted by talented students from Nanyang Technological University's School of Art, Design and Media, this captivating installation showcases a simulated ocean floor adorned with "seaweed" and "corals." These elements are ingeniously crafted using either upcycled single-use plastics or environmentally-friendly seaweed bioplastics.

"Show III" stands as an installation collaboratively created by students from James Cook University and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. This captivating piece employs audio-visual effects to simulate a shower encounter, offering a unique space for introspection and self-contemplation, including contemplation on our personal water consumption habits.

The month-long festival promises an exciting culinary journey with a delightful array of 50 homegrown food and beverage vendors. Visitors will have the opportunity to indulge in a diverse range of delectable treats, showcasing the vibrant flavors of the local food scene. From tantalizing street food to innovative culinary creations, the festival offers a delightful feast for the senses.

In addition to the culinary delights, the festival will be accompanied by captivating live performances by talented musicians. Renowned bands like 53A and Tabula will take the stage, enchanting the audience with their mesmerizing melodies and energetic performances. Visitors can look forward to immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere, dancing to the rhythm of the music, and enjoying unforgettable live entertainment.
