Dujiangyan is a mavel. It's been standing for nearly 2300 years. Looking around the world, very few ancient water conservancy projects have endured like this.
Without the need for a massive dam, it manages to provide water to almost the entire Chengdu Plain. Today, it stands as China's largest irrigation area recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site and a World Heritage Irrigation Structure.
It can be said, without Dujiangyan, there would be no present-day Chengdu. What wisdom lies within this ancient engineering marvel? And how has it continued operating for nearly 2300 years?
