Bhagavanth Kesari is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi, under Shine Screens banner.[2] It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the titular role alongside Kajal Aggarwal, Sreeleela and Arjun Rampal, who is making his debut in Telugu cinema. Story: In the heart of this compelling tale lies Bhagavanth Kesari (Nandamuri Balakrishna), a man with a mysterious past, incarcerated yet morally unyielding. His life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes the guardian of Vijaya Lakshmi, fondly known as Vijji (Sree Leela), daughter of his jailer (R Sarathkumar). Kesari, with his unwavering sense of justice, embarks on a journey to nurture Vijji into a resilient young woman aspiring to join the Indian army. Intertwined in this narrative is the presence of Rahul Sanghvi (Arjun Rampal), a power-hungry tycoon whose connection with Bhagavanth and Vijji unravels hidden secrets.

Review: The highly anticipated cinematic venture, Bhagavanth Kesari, helmed by the director Anil Ravipudi, graced the screen with a power-packed ensemble cast including Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sree Leela, Kajal Aggarwal, and Arjun Rampal. At its core, the film champions the empowerment of young girls, seamlessly blending elements of action, emotion, and impactful dialogues.

Balakrishna's performance as Bhagavanth Kesari is nothing short of mesmerising. He effortlessly transitions between his iconic larger-than-life persona and the nuanced emotional depth required for his character's relationship with Vijji. The on-screen chemistry between Balakrishna and Sree Leela, portraying Chicha and Vijji respectively, resonates well, striking a chord with the audience.

Sree Leela's portrayal of Vijji is commendable. Her journey from a vulnerable girl battling anxiety to a confident and strong-willed young woman is portrayed with finesse. She not only embraces her character but soars through her action sequences, leaving a lasting impact. Kajal Aggarwal, essaying the role of Kaachi, brings her charm to the screen, although some of her interactions with Kesari could have been more organic. Arjun Rampal, as the ruthless antagonist, exudes sophistication and style, though his character arc might benefit from more innovative writing. Other actors R Sarathkumar, Muralidhar Goud, Brahmaji, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Raghu Babu and others played their supporting roles.

The film's musical landscape, crafted by S Thaman, elevates the viewing experience, especially in the second half. The cinematography and production values further enhance the overall visual appeal, making Bhagavanth Kesari an enjoyable watch. Given Balakrishna's mass appeal and Sree Leela's dancing prowess, the songs though decent missed a touch of brilliance.

While the first half could have offered a more engaging narrative, the film finds its stride in the latter portion, delivering a satisfying blend of action and emotion. Bhagavanth Kesari stands as a testament to the enduring spirit and power of women empowerment. However, watch the movie for what it is–a commercial entertainer.
